Wasn't that pretty much Riku's character growth in Chains? Accepting the darkness within himself and turning it into a weapon for great justice?

Kairi doesn't have darkness within her, though.

...Unless our knowledge of Princesses of Heart is incomplete.

Regardless, what would her Shadow be a representation of?

She actually hates Riku and Sora for leaving her behind all the time

Roxas spent all of Days maxing out the Magician and Fool S-Links.

Never even got to rank 1 with Justice or Hierophant, though.

Losing access to half the social links a couple weeks into the game was bull poopie.

Lotta resentment for the single time it happened as a conscious decision on Sora's part alone.

Well, Shadows do tend to take the extreme approach. Theatrical, even.

It's the best way to provoke a reaction.

Besides, the feelings they represent aren't always logical, or even something you're conscious of.

I mean, I could plan out an entire dialogue if you wanted me to. I'm not exactly at a loss for scathing insults.

I'm pretty sure I read a fic like that usually with Kairi listening to the voices and just following her libido right then and there

Seriously though, they could do a twist revealing that Kairi is actually an artificial Princess of Heart who, like Ventus, had the darkness stripped from her (in Ansem's experiments?). That way, she could have her own Vanitas.

But Aqua realized she was a Princess of Heart when she met Kairi in Birth by Sleep before she could take part in any experiments.

Ansem is secretly evil, and was doing experiments way before he took in Xehanort.

He has Hearts in bottles on a shelf!

Kairi having the darkness stripped from her might even explain why she remembers nothing at all of her childhood in Hollow Bastion. It's just like Ven forgetting about his training with Xehanort after he awakened from the coma after being separated from Vanitas.

Except, again, she was already pure light in Birth By Sleep.

She should have already been amnesiac.

I mean, her being a Xehanort vessel could work because her body was empty for most of the first game.
