Her house and vocation has just burnt down, this is a reasonable way for anyone to act. She comes across to me as introverted in a self aware way, but this is such an extreme scenario, it's not really something I think can be used in commentary of her as a persona in general.
That level of self-awareness in such an extreme situation makes me think it's a fairly regular thing, though.
But yeah, obviously nothing to prove it one way or the other.

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.a bunch: I had considered selective mutism, actually, but it seemed unlikely given the previous comics.
Not impossible, I don't think, but unlikely.
she her hers hOI!!! i'm tempei don't know if it bothers anyone else but it seems like there's a recurring theme of "serious stuff that is then ended on a comedic note" that doesn't sit well with me.
i don't mind a bit of light comedy but it feels like the emotional part of the comic is consistently derailed by jeph's inability to let any arc have a soft emotional touch without being comedic in a totally shallow manner at the end.
regardless, i'm somewhat warming up to brun.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Eh.
I feel like a lot of arcs have ended with that soft-emotional touch, and then people complained about things being too serious.
This ending IS a bit off note for the rest of the story though.
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"... okay, can we agree that she's definitely got some kind of Ambiguous Disorder here. It's no longer "I know myself and I won't be chatty" it's "I am going to be unable to speak, even when I have things I wish to convey."

See my post at the very top of this page.
I know. It just seemed to need some repeating.
That was the funniest strip in a long while. There was something very real with the awkwardness of every party involved.
Chad doesn't seem to find this awkward at all.
Of course, he may, in about fifteen seconds, when he's got a bit more context.
= Spindriver =Huh, you know, Chad seems like a pretty cool guy. I like Chad.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Interesting that Chad clearly likes Clinton, despite probably being a completely different personality type. Clinton comes out of this whole story looking less and less like an annoyingly nerdy social bungler and more like a good guy who's just a little touchy at times and who underestimates himself a little.
= Spindriver =I'd be willing to bet his reaction would be something like "So, wait, the guy who tutored me is your son? Huh. Small world."
And then he'll be all "Dude....your mom's HOT" next time he sees Clinton. And he won't be needling Clinton about it or anything, he'll just say it cause he thinks it's the truth and he's a little thick.
At least, that's what Clinton's mom said about him.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Let me guess, Chad's surname is Thundercock.

As long as he isn't nicknamed "hanging".
| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |He does look like a Chad.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Back up a sec. Why isn't Clinton staying at the hotel? He was in the fire too. The cops could've at least given him a lift home.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117x7 "Annoyingly nerdy social bungler" and "good person" are not mutually exclusive things.
Trump delenda est@CEO Probably because he still has a house to get back to, I'm unsure why no-one gave him a lift home though.
Selective Mutism is a real thing, you know. It's an anxiety disorder, and doesn't have anything to do with autism.
