Goths do not have covens- Goth refers to a style/subculture that is not inherent religious. Wiccans and other Neo Pagans have covens- you can be both a Neo Pagan and be a Goth in style- it's fairly common- but Goth is not defined by any kind of religious practice.

Well, the whole point is that they're a bunch of pretentious kids. I wouldn't put calling their gatherings "covens" to feel cool beyond them. And Gordon is adorable.

I was hesitant to use the word, since I know goths don't actually have covens, but I'm pretty sure Dora and Raven did call their group a coven.

It feels like a group of outcast kids embracing their outcastedness to a ridiculous and laughable degree. I get that - one of my first online aliases was "The Lone Shadow".

The early comic was essentially hipster!Jeph poking fun at hipsters, vegans, goths and all that. I don't think he was going for accuracy when he called the goth gathering a coven, I think he just wanted to say "Hah, look at these dorks and their fruity little club!"

IIRC, wasn't the old lady that Dora brought in to examine Raven's hair supposed to be a pagan of some variety?

She was an actual witch. We don't get much detail, other than the fact that she can identify curses (or the lack thereof), and even the militantly atheist Penelope described her as "spooky."

She was a pretty accurate representation, fair being fair.

Still it's a personal snit. People calling things that are not covens covens.

(Also, I would adopt Gordon. But mainly because I like surprise cuddles.)

Robonding

I'm actually more invested in May's character development than anyone else at the moment.

We've seen a little too much of Marten and Claire

Faye is getting help but that a looks like it's pretty basic unless she starts attending all the support groups in the building and goes crazy.

I wanna see May get some development. feels like there's potential....

....and now I kinda want to see Gordon's browser history.

I'm actually interested in seeing Faye getting along in the support group and the characters she meets there.

Then again, I really want May to meet Pintsize.

And I'm wondering how much technological fiddling was required to give Momo's shell the ability to blush.

probably wouldn't be too much of stretch to include lights or holograms into her cheeks, so she can do that. After all she is able to basically taser people with little difficulty. wait, can she still do that?

Wasn't that a defensive measure built into her previous body to deal with people in whom it triggered cuteness overload? If so, it shouldn't be needed in this less egregiously cute unit.
