If you're using an LCD monitor, try tilt it a bit, because in the last panel, there's a slightly lighter area.

GI Fs don't always move, you know.
I think he got the shape of the space-ship, saved it as a gif and layered it into the comic. Or something like that.

I think it might be subtly pulsing, but I'm not sure.
He explained on his twitter that the gif looked bad, so he took it down and replaced it with a non-animated version. He probably should have changed the newspost too.
