Normally you'd ignore appearance but the way I see it when the main draw of the show is the girls than their appearance is one of the most important factors to look at. Yeah they might have other things going for them but if they don't fit what I want in terms of appearance I don't see the point of watching their arcs.
That's pretty much my thoughts on the series. Though I'm in the minority that liked Rihoko's arc.
Finished Kaoru arc.
In my opinion, it has much better start, development, and conclusion than the first one. I could just feel so much history and chemistry between them, which made the whole arc all the sweeter.
My only problem is that I think there could have been a bit more conflict on the whole Friends VS Lovers thing. Maybe that's just me.
Now, onto Sae's arc.
...From the preview, I get a feeling that this won't be as good as the first two. But after that is the Ai arc, which I look forward to.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Even Nakata Joji could not make me like her arc. Goddamn Nakata Joji wasn't enough.
After hearing reports of Sae's arc, that was one of the ones I jumped...
Keep Rolling OnSae's arc is definitely the worst. It doesn't help that Sae herself is kind of a moeblob... I mean, Haruka's arc was one of the worse ones, but at least Haruka was fun to watch.
Watched ep 10.
Blood hell, this really is the worst so far. An extremely passive moe-blob? Sorry, I graduated that phase almost a decade ago.
That said, the narration during all those weird sequences, like quick clothes change training and talking vending machine scene (shit was bizarre, man), just makes this arc.
I mean, Junichi, Sae, what the hell are you even doing?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. So what you're saying is I'm no longer surrounded by mad people who firmly believe the arc is wonderful?
Were you in an asylum or something?
Now, watched ep 14.
My God, Ai is awesome.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Yes, preach.
Finished Ai route.
Goddamn, Ai is the coolest and also the cutest. I wonder if Ayatsuji route can beat that.
Oh, and that scene in the hot spring, where they kissed while being completely naked? There's no way in hell that they didn't do it after that. XD
I'm wondering if I should skip Rihoko's arc. Heard a lot of bad things about that.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Welcome to the Nanasaki Ai fan club. Girl is great.
I would urge you to try Rihoko's arc. I'm aware I'm in the minority, but I liked it. Most of the detractors don't like that (spoiler) Rihoko does not get the guy (which gets resolved in S2), and how it deviates from the white Christmas pattern. Furthermore, you have already watched through the worst arc.
Well, that might be a bit late, as I already started watching Ayatsuji arc. I will get around to watch that, though.
Man, Ayatsuji revealing her hidden side, and shutting those girls up was AWESOME.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Ah, it's Christmas.
If only I wasn't busy with Christmas-related works, I would have watched SS+.
Looking very forward to Haruka, Kaoru, and Ai's routes. Maybe also Ayatsuji. Sae, not so much.
Admittedly, I ended up skipping Rihoko's arc...
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. In my opinion, the best SS+ arcs are:
- Ayatsuji: The girl knows how to take charge. Ahem.
- Kaoru: Captures the awkward "Now what?" transition from close friends to romantic partners.
- Rihoko: For providing the romantic resolution people wanted in S1.
Though it's all worth a watch just to see the cute girls do cute stuff again.
Just re-watched the Ayatsuji arc again. God, there's a reason I never forgot this show...
Keep Rolling OnStarted watching SS+.
Decided to skip Ayatsuji's arc. I know that everybody loves her, but I don't know why, after watching five minutes I kinda lost interest. Skip.
Ditto with Rihoko. Skip.
Onto Ai's arc.
Fuck yes, Ai.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Honestly the Rihoko arc in plus was quite good and Ayatsuji's arc was pretty decent. I wasnt a fan of Ayatsuji till then.
After rewatching few episodes, now I'm actually surprised that there was no route for Hibiki.
There's something about her that is just charming...
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. There's a fandisk where she has a route, I think.
Mature for her age, understanding, compassionate, friendly and it doesn't hurt that she has considerable assets up front. A pity she's stuck in the caretaker roler for whatsherface.
Putting aside completionist attitudes of watching everything, judging merely by design seems like a poor choice to me if you just want what you like. Like thinking of Nanoha since I'm rewatching it right now, I think Fate has a pretty good good design and a completely awful character. Umineko has Lambdadelta who looks like one of the stupider Touhou characters (which isn't a compliment even at best from me, just so we're clear) but is probably my favorite character in the VN as a whole. By not watching the other four arcs you've only witnessed a third of the content, content which you clearly enjoyed to some extent.
I mean, I'm not judging you here or anything since it doesn't make a difference to me and I'm not even invested in Amagami, it just seems like a weird position to take for me. You intentionally avoid viewing content that you're likely to enjoy because you don't have strong feelings either way about how a character simply looks rather than at least how they behave.
