My supervisor just told me "Just about everybody you have interactions with sees you as arrogant." Me and him are friends and he was very chill and respectful in the conversation, like, some friendly brutal honesty, but obviously no one wants to hear that. Not sure how I feel about it. I need some time to process that.

If the people below me could shut up for once when it's past midnight on a weekday, that'd be fantastic...

I am now a perfectionist on winter break, getting more and more anxious that I'm not optimizing my fun to achieve maximum amounts of fun and leisure at all time and to not waste a second of one of the only weeks I get off all year. I also have several thousand personal projects I actually have free time to do now. I must optimize further!

I just broke the 40,000-word barrier. :)

I got my final grades for the semester: A in my writing class, B in Immunohematology, (aka how to do a blood transfusion without killing someone) B- in Parasitology, C+ in Clinical Chem. Now it's on to my internship next semester.

Also, I'm about 9,600 words into a story that I started back in September for that writing class.

I'll be getting my grades back at the start of January

I have to babysit today from noon until after dinner.

But the kids come tomorrow for Christmas morning.

It just makes it feel less special, I think, when they're here on Christmas Eve a lot too. Makes Christmas less distinct, I think.

The Christmas tradition we had when I was a kid is gone. No waking up and opening the presents in the morning.

Nope, we wait until 4 PM, when the kids come, to open them. Nothing is done until then.

Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes The Loud House (at least judging by your current avatar).

A ticket to the biggest Broadway musical of the day. A musical dramatization of the life of Alexander Hamilton, forgotten player in the American Revolution and founding of the republic, casting black actors in just about every role (the only role I specifically noticed a white person in was King George) and telling the story mostly through hiphop.

Worked my butt off running around for six straight hours cooking the entire Christmas dinner in my tiny apartment kitchenette, and then finally got to sit down for five seconds 45 minutes after everyone else and pick at the table scraps that remained :/

You're not going to believe this. When we were opening our presents, my younger brother tried to play a Christmas music video... that was set to ultra-tragic images. x_x

Deme, Cailleach, thanks for the congrats before, and Cail, congrats on getting tickets to Hamilton! June's a long way out, but hopefully the show will make the wait worth it.

I have to get used to this new persona. I used to be just Cail. Now I am Cail with Hamilton Tickets. It's a whole new sense of self

Christmas today was visiting the kids (niece and nephew) at their house for a few hours and having a whole bunch of eggs for lunch, then opening presents and entertaining them at my house.

Dinner was steak and potatoes... Not turkey.

Part of the after-dinner time was spent playing with my 5-year-old niece with her dolls and dollhouse. She didn't have anyone else to play with her. She was in the mood for silliness, so we did some silly things with the dolls.

Yeah, so I finished cooking dinner and everything turned out good. I made eight different dishes that made up three courses. And then I ate, and then I was so exhausted from running around and cooking I fell asleep in my room and when I woke up everyone had gone. But I get a free pass because I cooked the entire dinner by myself. Now I'm sitting on the couch eating some leftovers (Seating my family was quite the challenge in my apartment, since we have no dinner table) and spending the rest of my night in peace.
