In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Library's closed on Memorial Day so I also have the whole afternoon to do nothing.
I wish I could go swimming, but there are gonna be all those little kids in the water and yech.

I've already made plans for tomorrow.
Today I drew a Hipster Heracles.
It has been a good day.
[1]. Disregarding weekends and holidays, in which the "school" thing is removed and the "internet" thing is expanded to fill its space. Also disregarding how much time I spend on the internet at school- "school" is exactly one quarter as 6 hours is exactly one quarter of 24 hours.

You seem to sleep a lot.
I don't even dare to count how large portion of the day I spend in front of a computer. Eight hours in work, then I get home and draw for another 2-3 hours, and after I get that done, I get stuck here.
I'm just assuming that I sleep for 9 hours -> 0.375 of the day. And my usual sleep schedule (9 pm -> 6 am) is that. (I set an alarm for 6 so I can trope for an hour in the morning)

Been considering performing at a local open mic that I know exists near me, but rather than sign up right away I'll attend the next one and get a better idea of what kind of performers play there, how long your set is expected to be, etc. I'd be performing original songs alone, which I've never done before - my solo stuff is mostly original electronic music, but I've done a few rap songs and a few spoken word things, so I'd be rapping and/or talking to a backing track of my own.
Is it just me, or do some of Celldweller's songs sound similar to the OST of Metal Gear Rising Revengeance?
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.Dammit, the AI stomped me in Stardrive 2. I suspect cheating because there is no way the computer would have that many planets and ships for that early in the game.
However, I used a scorched earth tactic - each of my planets they took over, I bombed with a Protobomb, rendering it infected with vomit zombies and making it completely uninhabitable.
The Ralyeh Theocracy may have beaten me, but I'll be damned if I'll let them profit off it.
@ Engie. Yes.
@Luthen: I know how annoying that is. IMO the only thing more annoying than people being all "I CAN INSERT SHAPES AND CLIP ART AND WORD ART YAY" is people using plain office theme. IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO CLICK THE DESIGN TAB, PEOPLE! woops that got ranty

Knock knock
So I'm working an alright job that's fairly fun for decent pay. My only real complaint is it's fucking 45 miles away from my house and my daily commute is a living nightmare.
But I'm dicking around on facebook the other day, and my old boss from when I was working the helpdesk in college posts that he's moving up to director of support services, and his former position, manager, is opening up. I check out the listing, and I'm alarmingly qualified.
This manager position not only pays better (given the minimum and maximum pay grades listed, the difference is somewhere between "comfortable" and "sweet Mammon that's good"), but is also closer to home by a good 25, 30 miles or so. Turns out, much as I like the job I've got, the appeal of increased pay, decreased commuting time, and not having to be up buttfuck-early in the morning is deeply tempting to me.
So I applied. Wish me luck~

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIt's bad luck to say good luck. You're supposed to say things like "break a leg".
As in, break a leg of the guy in front of you so he can't get to the interview. :p
Why "break a leg" I use those daily, and hell my knee acts up often. Why not "break a dick"? I don't really use the damn thing.
Interesting counterpoint, but, it's difficult to break it when it's soft unless you pull on it, and for it to be hard the guy it's attached to has to be aroused, and job interviews seem to bring on anxiety more than arousal.
Mark what are you doing making me think of such things when I should be asleep like now.
Key: I was bringing up a point. I'd rather break something I don't really use, rather than a leg.
I'm loving my newfound total freedom from romantic thoughts.
Tried to order food online from some place. Made a mistake in the ordering form, which instantly caused the site to crap out an error log revealing their back-end SQL code. I wonder if I should warn them about this. Then again, given this setup it's unlikely that they care.
Sounds dangerous.
Sure is. Good thing I used a throwaway password too, because apparently they store it unencrypted.
Bloodborne's still fun.
