Thumped: Wow. That was rude. Too many of this kind of thump will bring a suspension. Please keep it civil.

My number 1 favourite is the Imperial Fists... and all their successors, given that the legion was the only one that split on ideological lines rather than because Rowboat wrote a post-it note saying let there be Generation Xerox.

After them I like the Ironhands for being unique and having the most tempting models to blow my savings on, the Ravenguard for being the black-ops unit and The Woobie with the Relictors coming in last place.

I don't have too much of a problem with Ultramarines except for Ward and the fact I've never seen an Ultramarine player who is actually aware of how the company markings work. I mean if we include all the bloody fan versions with the fiction and artwork it seems the worst job in the Astartes is captain of the Ultramarines 2nd company, its like getting another service stud after being promoted is more prestigious than being Papa Smurf.

Also if anyone here owns an Ultramarine army in another company's colours you win X Internets, where X > 9,000.

Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Salamanders, Blood Ravens, Black Templars. And the Dark Angels, purely for their looks.

I must admit, just from playing the Dawn Of War games, the Blood Ravens I like a lot as they try to use tactics at times (Which reads as hit the enemy's weak points over and over).

But for table top chapters, I love the Salamanders and the Space Wolves. The Salamanders quite possibly are the most humane of the chapters, assuming you don't get your ass set on fire by them. I love the Wolves for soley giving the middle finger to the Inquisition and getting away with it.

As for the traitors, I have a soft spot for the Thousand Souns (ALL IS DUST! I swear that is the most badass war cry I've ever heard). But I also like the Iron Warriors for just being sick, evil bastards.

I liked the Celestial Lions before their idealism got them all killed. Something about their yellow-bronze and blue color scheme was appealing too.

Now I mostly role White Scars.

Favourite Chaos Legion: Death Guard

Favourite Dark Angel geneseed: Guardians of the Covenant

Favourite Blood Angel geneseed: Blood Drinkers

Other notable Chapters I like: Black Dragons (even more since reading Death of Antagonis) & Sons of Medusa (I have always liked their colour scheme)

Like the Hawk Lord colors.

My fav first founding is a toss up between White Scars and Raven Guard.

Ultramarines. Followed closely by the Silver Skulls and the Praetors of Orpheus.

Meh, the Silver Skulls aren't one of my favorites.

I like how they have a mystic feel to them, using augury bones before a battle to tell if they should go into it or not. That, and dipping their enemies skulls in silver.

That's precisely why I don't like them, the fact that they cast lots to see if they go into battle or not.

Because omens. Seriously, it's like the Lamenters (at least I think it was them) that got abandoned by a fellow Chapter because the portents were bad, and the entire Chapter was nearly destroyed.

That it's stupid and it's a quality that does more harm than good, like the Dark Angels' relentless pursuit of the Fallen.

Stupid? It serves a practical purpose, unlike the endless and obsessive chase of the Fallen.

[up][up]You have to remember that unlike in real life, such superstitions actually work in the 40K universe and ignoring them only leads to bad things happening. Also the Lamenters being cursed with bad luck (at best) is their Hat.
