I've always seen the term "enemy design" to refer to how they look. Not once have I seen it used to mean "how they fight." That's more along the lines of "attack pattern."

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.In 2, 3, and 4 there were always enemies that were pretty much fodder for you to do sick combos too and the challenging ones came later. In DMC 1 every enemy felt challenging and had an optimal way of handling them. But honestly the whole stylish combat felt like a side note in 1. It was more of an adventure/horror game with a spectale fighter spin on it.

But I like how the game is so old that the grading system can be exploited more easily.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Playing DMC 1 last night the mannequins are easy but fun. The sin scissors/scythes are just begging to be gunned. Now the The death scissors/scythes on the other hand are just a nightmare, I died on the former first encounter(in the sewers) like 3 times, ticked me off. But yeah DMC 1 had cool enemies despite being limited in how few there were.
DMC 4's were really fun too though. But a lot of DMC 3's were just fodder and visually not as interesting or diverse as DMC 1/4.
DMC 1 I still really like but best Dante? Only in outfit. DMC 3/4's Dante was a lot more clever/funny and had more personality. DMC 1 Dante was a cornball.
Though DMC 3 dante's brastrap was ick. I usually just use the shirtless or DMC 1 outfit. And TALK ABOUT HORSEPOWER!!! was like the corniest nonsense lol plus he was a bit of a Jerkass at times. Hmmm actually DMC 4 Uncle Dante is probably my favorite. He had 3's wit and fun minus the Jerkass.
The brastrap on his 3 outfit is actually part of his gun harness. I thought it was actually part of his coat for the longest time.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterThat's a part of his gun harness?!
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!My favorite design is his DMC4 look.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I've grown quite fond of his DMC 1/Anime look.

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.4's outfit is pretty much my favorite for him.
I love the gif of him throwing his hands up at Trish.
It's like the perfect reaction gif.
When you're playing as Nero. It felt like most of the enemies in 4 were designed(or redesigned in the case of returning DMC 1 enemies) around his playstyle, more so than Dante's.
Also, being really anal here but, DMC 1's enemies are Marionettes.
Umbran Climax◊Can you link to that gif?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Part of me kind of wants to see an alternate version of Nero in the Dm C verse that's half nephilim and half human. Possibly make the human mother a witch or sorcerer like Kat. Give him an demonic right arm like his original counterpart to represent his devil side and a single angelic left wing to represent his angel side.
Struggling through it allHow very Deviantart.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I think it would be more interesting if for once the mother was the demon parent.
Thunder, Thunder, Thunder...I think it'd be more interesting if we had DMC5 that was set post-DMC2. Nero and Kyrie (who's been hanging around Lady and is now a Badass Normal) set out to take care of a problem while Trish and Lady try to free Dante (of course, their goals would be connected). You could also have a second mode where you play as Dante as he makes his way through Hell and handles any problems going on there.
You'd have your story, you'd have plenty of chances for awesome, you'd have both Nero and Dante fully playable, and Capcom would be rolling in money. Why isn't it a thing?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!i'd wager capcom tossed dmc into "franchises that we no longer trust despite the fact that it's mostly our fault that the newest installments haven't sold because we make very poor decisions" (in this case, giving the franchise to a western developer)
Capcom has a problem with that, don't they?

As much as it pains me, this franchise is done for. It was doomed the moment Dm C underperformed, and I can't say I'm not a bit relieved.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.It was still listed by Capcom as a 'powerful' IP alongside Monster Hunter and Resident Evil, so I wouldn't abandon all hope just yet. Though I still doubt we'll get the Itsuno-helmed DMC 5 that people seem to want.
...Thing is though Kamiya is gone, and Capcom is holding on to the rights on the off chance that they can strangle a few more dollars out of it.

I thought enemy design was referring to the way enemies fight, not how they look.
