Does anyone think that Santana's not a native Spanish speaker. Hearing her flip out makes me think that she's not. I mean, her speech in the latest episode sounds like it was written by a Spanish 2 student. Especially "cosas malas".

Just read an interview with Darren Criss, and as it turns out he hasn't even gotten the chance to talk wit the writers about his character (outside of that one time where Murphy, uh, felt up his face...). And whenever he asked about what he should do as Blaine the staff just brushed him off. So it looks like he really has been forced to flounder about on his own with no storyline direction, so it's not entirely his fault that Blaine's so, well, bland and inconsistent. I mean, there are still some iffy moments where he kind of botches it with Narm, but the poor guy is kind of stuck in limbo about his own character. If what he says is true, then wow. Criss really isn't that bad considering he's literally been forced to make Blaine up as he goes all by himself.

[up] That's not good at all. I don't know that much about what the normal writer/actor relationships on TV shows, but that sounds really concerning.

Just watched it. Like it, but found it didn't hit the high a finale should. Then again, nothing has hit that high this year (at least that I've seen).

[up][up][up] It's not the writers' responsibility to make sure that the actors know what they're doing, it's the director's. Writer's tend to give no input to actors because what they say might be in conflict with what the director wants, and the less voices telling an actor what to do, the better.

Yeah, but there ARE limits to what the actor can feel out on his own, and you're going to need a third party's input at some point.

Good god.

And of course, Writers Suck.

I was just thinking about that..."the director ...will freely re-write, rework or drop material when filming, the actors will ad-lib or creatively reinterpret the lines...".

So, it's up to the actor to feel the lines, but the director would have to tell them how they should feel them...

On his fansite: http://darrencrissweb.com/transcript-of-darrens-sag-panel-qa/#more-667 I mean, it's not like he's given nothing at all. But the writers are basically giving him the same treatment as extras, which is pretty egregious considering Murphy's kind of got a reputation for normally being excessively nitpicky, and you'd think a character as important as Blaine would get more direction.

"Brushing people off" and "getting no input" are NOT good things to hear about ANYONE involved in production. ACTORS ASK YOU QUESTIONS FOR A FUCKING REASON.

And I wanted to be CAST in Glee. God, now I want to just... get on production as a writer or something so I can be nice to everyone and GIVE ADVICE and fjakl;fafaskl.

If they're brushing Darren off and letting him flounder around, this implies they aren't even pointing him to who he SHOULD ask.

And it doesn't just extend to the acting apparently. He's given barely notice before he starts recording songs. His music is pretty great, but it's because he's lucky and already knew the songs beforehand. Damn.

Well, if he's really becoming a regular next year, you can expect that to change.

What would really worry me is if Chord doesn't get treated the same way.

I remember an interview where a guest star said that it was a lot like factory production.

They do a scene and then go right on to the next one.

Neil Patrick Harris I think it was...

Oh yeah, he always saying how he doesn't know what is going to happen next, I usually assumed that the writters just want to keep things secret

This doesn't bode well for those people who are going to jockey for the newest cast role.

I don't know as much with Overstreet, but from what I have read it sounds like he was subject to an extremely complex screening process with the rest of the cast (probably including a compatibility test with Colfer from the sounds of it, given what he was auditioning for).

Colfer mentioned in an interview a few weeks ago that he didn't even meet Criss until the day they started shooting for Never Been Kissed, which probably accounts for the forcedness of their relationship in my eyes. But it looks like Criss skipped over all of that. This really puts his acting in a new perspective.

There's gonna be a new cast role?

Who died?

Or who's really out of the spotlight, because the only people I remember are football player, football coach, and Beiste.

Who I haven't seen in like a dozen episodes, so.

That's not particularly surprising or concerning, really. Especially compared to an actor not being given any information aside from his script and minimal direction.

I was kidding. ;P

Mostly. Matt was almost never plot-relevant. Except as just membership.

And that one line I remember at the end of season 1 where before he joined the glee club, "I was just another football player".

THAT'S ALL HE EVER LOOKED LIKE TO ME.

I would hope so. And I'm 90% sure he'll get regular status next season considering his massive popularity and the fact that they apparently submitted him for an Emmy nod. (Which I believe more than ever that he diserves knowing how little direction he gets.)

We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.

The show got extended to 5 seasons, and most of ND (+ Blaine) are juniors so they're graduating after next year. The new characters are there to replace them. Sam got brought in for that reason, and Kurt got retconned a year younger, so those two are guaranteed to stay at least season after the next.
