Make your own Magic card!

I wanted to keep the CMC up because it + infect (which three red creatures do have, along with probably several artifact creatures) + 2x Lava Axe, or enough of any sort of burn = GG; not to mention you could kill indestructible creatures with it. Also, stuff that does damage to each opponent at once could probably break it with infect in multiplayer.

I didn't think of saying to treat it as combat damage; frankly, I don't know if that sort of thing is even done. It'd kinda feel like too much, somehow. :/

I dunno, Fire Servant is just as deadly with two Lava Axes without requiring you to have a creature with infect.

Poison counters are a helluva lot harder to get rid of than damage; also, didn't know that guy was a thing (but am not really surprised; surprised it's so cheap, though).

They are. However, most decks don't run lifegain. And even those that do usually don't run more than a little bit, meaning that a red deck should be able to very easily finish them off regardless.

And besides, "It's shitbonkers OP with Infect" also applies to stuff like instant pump effects, and yet those are pretty cheap.

There is absolutely a way to break that into a million tiny shards, I just don't know it yet.

That would be incredible with a Jeskai Prowess deck or even Izzet Kiln Fiend-type creatures.

Kiln Fiend (and Wee Dragonauts and Gelectrode) triggers when you cast a spell, but not when you copy one. And Storm only makes copies.

Same goes for this Prowess thing, now that I've looked it up.

I am now very annoyed. So two of Izzet's (many) signatures were creatures that are pumped when you cast sorceries/instants and spells that could be replicated many times over, and these two elements didn't synergize in the intuitive way? That's crap. It might be a good thing for balance and overall game design, but it's still crap.

Copies aren't cast, they go directly on the stack, thus they don't trigger Prowess.

Weird idea for a cycle of Duel lands. They produce hybrid mana, it can pay for either of it's colors, but cannot pay for colorless costs.

Whenever an instant or sorcery spell you control is copied, Bionic Monk gets +1/+0 until end of turn for each copy that resolves.
Niv-Mizzet expected the monks of Tarkir to be boring and forgettable, but he found their philosophy strangely compelling. The fact that he got some of their number as willing test subjects was just a bonus.

He tried to give me a game loss, but I fortunately had a Lich's Mirror on board.

If there was some way to graft subtypes onto instants and sorceries, it would work wonders with almost anything with splice onto arcane.

Swift Silence. Works even better if you have a Lullmage Mentor on the field.

Alternatively, since copies do count as spells for some purposes, Nivmagus Elemental.
