Negi doesn't dare to return Chisame's yet because she is the one he has troubling feelings for. It's a law of manga; the more you're interested, the more being open with the relationship intimidates you.

I can't see how someone can prefer a Chisame ending above an Asuna one. Then again she resembles Naru even more than Asuna, so it's the type of ending Ken would go for.

I honestly think Chisame is a better and more interesting character than Asuna, although Asuna is no bad by any means. But I dislike the idea of her forcing Negi to remain Celibate Hero for a freaking century until she wakes up, which is something not even Asuna herself wants. Asuna is a much better companion in battle, sure, and that counts a lot in an action series, but I just like Chisame better.

Guitar Hero is wonderful at christmas parties, particularly when we're all too drunk to even get 50% on Slow Ride.

To be quite honest, I too prefer a Chisame ending over an Asuna ending. Mostly because Chisame doesn't come off as nowhere near as abusive as Asuna.

The same girl that wanted to beat him up for no particular reason? At least Asuna has the excuse of being stripped or molested in her sleep. Chisame just won't come to terms with the fact that she's attracted to him and tends to explode on everything in site (including Chachamaru). Seriously, who the hell attacks Chachamaru in anger?

^Chachamaru was being cruel in that instance. She was basically taunting her about how she was a coward hiding behind the title of 'Negi's advisor' to stay near him without competing for his attention because she was afraid she would lose to the other girls.

Well, not only the Sport Festival chapters aren't the best character showings for almost anyone, but Chisame was bursting down under the weight of her own frustration. She at least has more emotional justification for her actions than the girls who attacked Negi For The Lulz.

The thing with current Asuna is her relationship with Negi has lost all the edge that made it interesting. It's rather vanilla now, and the fact she keeps being pushed to the background to serve as a plot device conveniently out of the action doesn't help her case.

Chisame doesn't come off as being as abusive at Asuna? I don't understand that one.

You know, come to think of it, a Chisame hookup during the sleepytime if he actually liked Asuna all along would be kinda creepy, wouldn't it?

I could honestly get behind a Chisame/Negi ending, although it would require Chisame to finally crack and admit to herself that she actually likes him.

... And when did Chisame want to beat him for no reason?

I praised her for being the only one to actually explain to Negi why she wanted to punch him. And as far as she knew, it wouldn't have even fazed him.

Asuna's had more screentime when Negi, you know, actually felt the punches.

I don't think Negi will hook up with anyone else if Asuna is the one he really likes.

Not only that, she had the courage to attack him alone instead of joining the mob like some other people.

I don't really care what ending we get so long as it's interesting and not Nodoka or Makie.

Not really. It'd be an insult to Chisame, actually. She's barely more than a replacement goldfish.

Negi ain't no cheater. It just isn't in his character. Whoever the girl he has in mind is, the others have almost no chance. True, very few of us marry our childhood sweethearts, but Negi isn't a normal human being, and he's very stubborn when he sets his heart on something.

Oh, and like Asuna doesn't. This whole part has been all about her playing Stepford Smiler because she's too cowardly to tell her supposed friends she won't be seeing them ever again.

And? The others also knew he wouldn't retaliate against them either, and yet they gangpiled on him.

Yeah, for all she talked, Chachamaru's situation was, bottom line, the same as Chisame's. She also hides behind her position as his secretary while stalling for a confession that'll never come unless she's downright pushed into it.

Not to mention, Chisame wanted to punch him to work out her frustrations and give him the speech about why she and (why she thinks) the girls are doing this madness. She's not the one trying to work out the confession by shoving a leek up his ass and mind controlling him.

Granted, she didn't try to stop it, but neither did Chachamaru, who supposedly wanted his safety first yet did absolutely nothing to help him when he was in mortal danger.

Ugh, and now we're talking about that one horrible arc again...

Now, I won't say he ever was in deadly danger in this mini-arc, as bad as he had it. Not even Eva would have pushed it that far.

Ku Fei would've squashed him if her attack had hit. Not deadly if he can regenerate, but we don't know if he can regenerate with his magic suppresed. I'd assume that he wouldn't regenerate untill the suppresion effect was gone... which is enough for the girls to freak the f*ck out. Would've been utterly hilarious.

Well, that was a touching chapter...finally we have the issue being confronted more seriously rather than with wacky hijinks. I still can't help but think something is going to happen to interrupt this plan though; because dropping out a main character from the story seems rather difficult.

(Though the aftermath of the sleepover was hilarious. Variety!)

I'm confused...

I'm only confused as to why her right hand is behind the thing rather than in front of it.

I tried to turn that into an avatar. It didn't work very well. I could probably do it if I tried again though.

But yeah I've always liked that.

Edit: Well, if I insisted on turning it into an avatar I could probably just leave the background instead of what I normally do but that's boring.
