Yeah, you gotta do a thing that invalidates the game's normal archive of textures. Lets you use custom ones.

Forgot how to do that though, been ages since I've done it.

I do remember that you can't just download something through the Nexus for it, you gotta poke some files the old fashioned way.

Sounds unpleasant. But surely the intructions are found in the nexus wiki?

And sometimes it just doesn't work. For seemingly no reason.

Modding any Creation or Gamebryo Engine (and they are basically the same, despite what Bethesda says on the subject) is a black art. Sometimes everything falls into place, other times you can't enter into a massive bit of the world map without the game crashing everytime you go to fast travel or walk into there, and unless you are really good at decoding Papyrus logs you will never find out why.

Try this mod for size reference the Archive Invalidation thingy. It may work, or it may not.

Full confession; I am a dirty pleb that has modded only Fallout 2, and has never modded 3 or NV, the most modes me games on the goddamn planet.

I just recently reinstalled FO 3, so...Any recommendations? Quest packs, texture packs, I'm game for anything.

Where was the weapon mods thingy, that's an important one.

I'd say modding Fallout 2 makes you even more hardcore. I don't even know where to start with that game.

Ahh. I've never played with graphics mods or the like so that would be why I didn't know, sorry!

Tell me about it. When I got my new computer mods just fucking refused to work so I dropped the subject for months. Finally I guess I prayed to the right divines because I managed to get it to work and downloaded like 50 mods all in one go with no conflict or messing with the load order. Then I had to transfer shit over to a new HDD and now it's a battle to get twenty in working order.

So I just had a thought; is it possible to go murder caesar and then hit new vegas to be forgiven for all your crimes?

I dunno, but I do know that you can go to the Long 15, nuke both sides, and get forgiven for it by then going to Vegas.

I don't think so. You can't go to the Fort until you have Caesar's mark, apparently.

And the game just...crashes upon start :(

@Mukora: The Hi Definition Mod and Restoration Patch are all I use.

The former patches up really bad graphics glitches; and the latter is YMMV but some of the cut content is really cool.

Meh. I uninstalled the whole shebang and I guess I will have to let it go.
