so this is a few days old and not that many people will likely care but viz has licensed punpun. first volume will be out in 2016.
VIZ COMING THROOOOOOOOOUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, etc.
(might be opportune to mention that another of asano's works, girl on the shore/girl by the sea, is also getting released in an omnibus by Vertical).
Not really related to Punpun much but has anybody been reading Asano's newest manga, Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction? (that's a mouthful) I don't want to make a thread if nobody else has because a thread with only 1 reply is the saddest thing on the internet.

Sex-negative outrage culture and the Illuminati are realis it the cute girl manga he said he was interested in making? i heard about it, but haven't personally checked it out yet.
It has cute(?) girls in it, and there's also some sort of alien invasion plot going on in the background of really weird Slice of Life. It's pretty good.
I got into it after reading a yuri h-doujin of the series
Sex-negative outrage culture and the Illuminati are realI'm not surprised.
http://www.amazon.com/Goodnight-Punpun-Vol-Inio-Asano/dp/1421586207 A small reminder that the the first volume of the VIZ release is coming out in about two weeks.
It goes without saying that if you liked Punpun, you should support this release to show Viz that it was worth it for them to bring this series abroad.
Btw, I actually did read like 2 volumes of Dedede. It's pretty good so far, and about what you expect from Asano.

Oh yeah, the art is spectacular for sure. I did enjoy the manga for the most part, including the last few chapters - but when Punpun and Aiko begin running from the law, and Punpun becomes this psychotic abusive boyfriend, I really felt like dropping the series. That point was more or less the one low quality point of an otherwise great manga.
I'm aware that I'm probably alone in this, but I just really felt like evil Punpun got too dark to the point where I didn't really care where his story went. He went too far down the rabbit hole so to speak, but he climbed out of it for the last few chapters.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.
