Aaaaagh! Why does Mei's route have to be so goddamn sad!? Just... why!? Saddest scene in any visual novel I've played.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.I don't really remember her route that well, honestly. I liked Natsume's more. Surprising considering how little I normally like lolis.
So, Manga Gamer is doing a new translation of Edelweiss, and will be releasing the original and the fandisc in one set. Hopefully it will be at least a little more understandable.
Also, their project right after Edelweiss is Dear Drops. So hopefully we'll be getting that soon.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Oh, is that what they were doing. I saw screenshots of Edelweiss among the active projects on their website and was pretty confused.
So, does anyone think they can get the BGMs somehow? I don't have a clue how to extract audio from games and all that. It's beyond me. And I doubt there's a download out there for the OST, either.
EDIT: Wait! No! I found them on You Tube.

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Playing the new translation. Most of this game has been pretty fun, but I really dislike the plot of Haruka's route (which I'm playing first.)
Kazushi's view of bringing the dead back to life has absolutely nothing to do with the evidence regarding how plausible it is, or any argument regarding the pros and cons of attempting it. His opinion swings around based purely on his emotional state and the stake he has in believing one conclusion or another, and it makes me lose a lot of respect for him, and for the writers.
Also, I don't think the device of having a heroine die in a fire needs to be revisited over multiple games.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back. Her route was bad, yeah. Bringing the dead back to life is terrible unless I'm the one who wants to do it, in which case I will succeed because I am the protagonist and you're just a bitter old woman, lady.
I'm interested in this but the only thing I know about the VN is the premise.
Does it have a plot for each route, or is it pretty slice-of-life ish? Is there a lot of comedy? Or mostly drama? (or half-half)
Backloggery MyAnimeListEach route has a plot, but the common route and the greater part of the game is slice of life. I'd say the slice of life and comedy aspects are the better parts of the game, since in my opinion the plots are not very strong.

Moving discussion out of Kira Kira thread.
So! Why did you mention Clannad when discussing Edelweiss? Not seeing the connection here.
