The -man thing was me just letting you know who's who, not really planning on calling them that if the game ever happened :P

Also CT = classic, CS = X, CP = Z-series :P

Also saw this on the BB wiki: True to her vampiric heritage, on stages where other characters will have reflections, Rachel does not project one at all.

Fridge Brilliance at its finest.

One place to notice it is in the rainy version of the port stage in CS. Go to the left of the stage to get to a water puddle.

You know, I really like BlazBlue for the small visual stuff like that and how plentiful they are.

Just cycle through the animations and you notice all sorts of fun little details.

Like Valk will sometimes tighten his glove after doing attacks, other times he merely readjusts his stance. Jin actually switches hands holding Yukianesa during one of his moves; it's pretty slick too since he catches it mid air. Rachel has really fun ones too.

Other stuff is like how Platinum plays rock-paper-scissors with her 5A and all of her facial expressions, Hazama has a knife in his heel during Rising Fang, Taokaka, Rachel and Arakune have crouching idle animations, Ragna's 2D has two Black Beast heads and his j.5D has a giant claw. And that is not taking account different effects like how Noel's gun attacks dispel used shells when used.

Let me give this a shot, CS version.

Power: The weapon group the character yields when defeated. X, Zero and Axl all have different attacks.
Weakness: Self-explanatory. Notes mention special effects that occur in relation to other powers - usually the weakness.
Immune: In addition to their own power, the character cannot be hurt by attacks of this power group.

Rachel Alucard - Power: Storm - Weakness: Frenzy - Immune: Claw
Note: Frenzy attacks have reduced mercy invincibility against Rachel
Taokaka - Power: Frenzy - Weakness: Magic - Immune: None
Note: Magic attacks dizzy Taokaka, slowing her for 3 seconds.
Tsubaki Yayoi - Power: Light - Weakness: Venom - Immune: Storm
Note: Storm attacks refill one Izayoi stock. Venom attacks deplete one Izayoi stock outside of Hyper mode.
Hazama - Power: Venom - Weakness: Soul - Immune: Command
Note: First Soul attack knocks off 20% of Hazama's health and sends him into Rage mode until game over or Hazama dies. Even if a Retry Chip is used, the extra damage does not repeat. Attacks other than Frenzy, Venom and Command also destroy Ouroboros chains. Hazama takes extra damage if knocked into his own chains.
Makoto Nanaya: Power: Soul - Weakness: Command - Immune: Light
Note: X's Command Probe stuns Makoto without mercy invincibility, but inflicts no damage. She receives mercy invincibility when the probe shorts out after five seconds. Makoto receives no mercy invincibility from Axl's Dummy Probes.
Note 2: In Hyper mode, Makoto may swivel her arm before punching the ground. If X, Zero or Axl are on the ground when she punches it, they will be popped into the air, whereupon Makoto will uppercut them through the roof for an instant kill.
Valkenhayn R. Hellsing - Power: Claw - Weakness: Storm - Immune: Frenzy
Note: Storm attacks knock Valkenhayn out of Wolf form
Platinum the Trinity - Power: Magic - Weakness: Light - Immune: Soul
Note: Light attacks disarm Platinum's currently equipped weapon
Relius Clover - Power: Command - Weakness: Claw - Immune: Venom
Note: Relius takes mitigated damage from Storm attacks, but Ignis is immune. Claw or Soul attacks will knock Ignis around, and harm Relius if he is hit by her.

Sector Seven Labs Layout
Stage 1: Kokodroid (Jin, Tager, Ragna, Hakumen), Mechakaka Mk.IX
Stage 2: Kokodroid (Bang, Carl, Noel, Arakune), Silver Hakumen
Stage 3: Boss Rush, Mimic Nirvana
Stage 4: Kokonoe, Golden Tager XX
Kokodroid: A robotic replica of Kokonoe that impersonates other fighters. (Think Doc Robot from Mega Man 3)
Ragna - Weakness: Storm - Immune: Venom
Jin - Weakness: Venom - Immune: Light
Noel - Weakness: Command - Immune: Magic
Tager - Weakness: Claw - Immune: Command
Arakune - Weakness: Soul - Immune: Claw
Bang - Weakness: Magic - Immune: Frenzy
Carl - Weakness: Frenzy - Immune: Storm
Hakumen - Weakness: Light - Immune: Soul
Mechakaka Mk.IX - Weakness: Magic - Immune: Frenzy, Venom
Silver Hakumen - Weakness: Light - Immune: Storm, Venom, Command
Mimic Nirvana - Weakness: Command - Immune: Soul, Magic
Note: X's Command Probe does no damage, but Mimic Nirvana can be knocked around by X's attacks while it stays attached. Mimic Nirvana takes extra damage on contact with the spike pits on both sides of the arena.
Kokonoe - Weakness: Venom - Immune: Claw, Frenzy
Note: The fight ends when Kokonoe is knocked to 20% health.
Golden Tager XX - Weakness: Soul - Immune: Storm, Light, Command
Note: Golden Tager XX takes mitigated damage from all sources except his own rocket fists. At <20% health, Kokonoe will charge the Divine Bestial Sword for one minute; Golden Tager XX will stop attacking during the charge, but the Sword results in instant death.

Storm
X: Galeforce Wall - Shoots a blast of wind that does minimal damage and repels enemies. Charging it creates a shield that has the same effect.
Zero: Windcutter [(X)4] - A heavy slash attack that damages and repels opponents.
Axl: Tornado Cannon - Shoots small bombs that erupt into tornadoes after a short period.

Frenzy
X: Razor Disc - X throws a sharp disc that returns to its owner with any items it collects. Charging it launches a shockwave that harms all enemies in front.
Zero: Dancing Edge [L+X] - A dash attack that carves through foes. Grants contact immunity during the attack, but enemy attacks will still hurt.
Axl: Shredder - Fires razor-bladed discs that bounce off walls.

Light
X: Lightblast - X shoots a ball of light which explodes on contact with anything solid. Charging the shot uses a lot of weapon energy, but detonates the entire screen.
Zero: Eclipse Burst - Zero strikes the ground, erupting a sphere of pure light. Uses all available weapon energy; damage is proportional to energy used; energy used in this manner recharges quickly.
Axl: Optic Ray - Axl fires a continuous beam of light straight ahead. Does not grant mercy invincibility to non-boss enemies.

Venom
X: Leech Probe - X fires a snakehead at the enemy, which attaches and corrodes their health. Charging it causes the probe to recharge X's health as well.
Zero: Falling Dragon [j.2X] - Zero descends from the skies with a black-green dragon aura around his saber. Impact with the ground has an area of effect.
Axl: Toxic Chain - Axl fires bola shots which bind enemies and corrode their health. Only one such shot can be onscreen at once.

Soul
Special: Enemies knocked away by these attacks take damage from, and inflict damage to, other solid objects.
X: Soul Pulse - X fires a short-ranged blast that knocks enemies away. Charging the attack creates a "soul body" that attacks enemies on its own, at the cost of 1 weapon energy per second.
Zero: Prominence Slash [8X] - Zero performs a rising slash with his saber. Enemies struck by this attack are knocked away.
Axl: Spiral Blaster - Axl fires a straight shot that drills into solid objects for a moment before detonating. Enemies caught in the explosion are knocked away.

Claw
X: Lunar Slicer - X slashes enemies in front of him. Can be performed while dashing without loss of momentum. Charging it grants X knockback immunity and free use of this attack for 10 seconds at the cost of 25% weapon energy.
Zero: Timeforged - Zero's saber inflicts extra damage with his basic attacks and can destroy minor projectiles.
Axl: Piercing Fang - Axl fires a bolt that pierces through walls and enemies.

Magic
X: Cat Napalm - X fires a rocket that explodes and leaves a flaming hazard that does not invoke mercy invincibility on non-bosses. Charging it sets a flamethrower drone in front of X.
Zero: Sky Dance [j.8X] - Zero performs a spinning attack that harms enemies on all sides.
Axl: Bunny Napalm - Axl shoots a grenade that leaves a flaming hazard that does not invoke mercy invincibility on non-bosses.

Command
X: Command Probe - X fires a small probe that does no damage, but attaches to non-boss enemies. Enemies connected to the probe fight for X until they are destroyed.
Zero: Neurojack [2X] - Zero thrusts his saber and projects a potent lightning bolt in front of him. Uses a small amount of weapon energy per bolt. Zero may use this attack without weapon energy, but the range is halved.
Axl: Dummy Probe - Axl launches a probe in front of him which provides supplementary fire. Uses weapon energy on deployment.

I tried to model this off of X8, hence all the detail I went into regarding the options the Hunters acquire as well as mentions of Rage and Hyper modes. As for Makoto's instant-kill combo, you tell me Bamboo Pandamonium's Hyper attack doesn't come out of nowhere and do a fuckton of damage. Also, since most of Makoto's damage is in close range while X and Axl can debilitate her from a distance, something was needed to balance it out.

I just hope that the cycle of weaknesses and immunities at least makes sense.

[up]Mori have stated in an interview that there is a story reason for why they share the same voice actor, but the reason isn't known yet. Might be explained in Lost:Memories. The only characters that shares voice actor without a story reason is Yuki and Makoto.

[up]Oh that's good, I thought it was just for the heck of it. Is there any other ambiguous relations to BB characters? xBlaze is still a little to expensive for me to get it.

[down]Ripper's cat? I assumed it was just a mascot like thing. Kinda hoping hoodie boy with the trashy tape on his jacket is related to Jin, cuz he seems so ignored.

[up][up]If one is going to talk about the connection between X Blaze and Blaz Blue, there's going to be a bit speculation mixed in as well. This was done on purpouse by Mori. He said that it wasn't going to be "this is how it is" but more like "could it be that ...?", but at the same time he said, if one can solve all of Xblaze, one can solve the main mystery of Blaz Blue.

While no exact date as been given to Xblaze, it takes place around 150 years before Blaz Blue and is an "adventure" game that draws the past of the Blaz Blue's world.(taken from 25th anniversary art book).

Now, to begin with, the most obvious connection, Mei Amanohokosaka is the ancestor to Tejou Amanohokosaka and Homura. She shares the same voice actor as Homura and a official art with Homura shows the same family crest that Mei has, as well as the same paper tag.

Zwei is the ancestor to the Mercurys. Nothing strange about this, Zwei shares the same voice actor as Kokonoe and Zwie's real name is Marcelyn F. Mercury.

The Legacy Weapons(excavated armaments). Ancient weapons found in the ground, they can be used but at a price. The three known is: Murakumo, A Blue sword which the prize of usage is unknown. Izayoi, a spear with the power to seal a target inside a pocket space with it's edge, price of usage is blindness. Kusanagi, 4 sets of gun blade pairs, it has the power of immunity towards Phenomena Intervention, it's price is shared existence.

Original Grimoire is the grimoire inside Touya, and it gives Touya the power of Soul Eater and Xblaze. The Azure Grimoire is also referred as the Original, Terumi calls it the original grimoire in the Light Novel of CS and even uses the exact same kanjis.

Blood Kain. In Blazblue it's a move used by Ragna to power himself up, but in a route in Xblaze Mei uses it to seal the grimoire inside Touya.

Now for the more a little unsure parts.

Es: She is a Manifest Boundary Contact Prime Field Device(the same reading as the Prime Field in Blazblue, only it has changed the Dimension Kanji to Manifest kanji instead) and there is a possibility that she is Amaterasu. And even if she isn't, she's at least a previous successor of the Azure. And from what I've read on a japanese forum, there is an official art drawn by Mori with Es wearing a Nu like cape with 0 written on the collar. While I know the art, I haven't seen a high resolution one to confirm myself. But if it is true, Es is likely the 0th prime field.

Es-N(nu): Looks like Nu, speaks like Nu, says movement number 13. Probably a red hearing but still. Could be a connection, but nothing one can say right now. There was nine but eight got destroyed. I personally thinks that Kiiro form Bloodedge Experience could be the ninth.

Unomaru: Is Unomaru Hazama? The biggest thing that started this speculation is that Sechs called Unomaru snake. There is also some Japanese that thought that Hazama's personality became more like Unomaru's in CP. Unomaru's birthday is on 20th march, the day on the edge between Summer and Winter. Edge=Hazama.

There might be more, but I can't think up any right now. Also, the cat doll is named Brain Cat, and he(?) is a character in Lost:Memories and has begun to talk.

[up]About to go to bed, but thank you very very much for that explanation!

More questions if you don't mind: So Yuki is confirmed to not be related to Makoto, there's no possibility of her being some type of relative? Next, Kinda like Blood Kain, but isn't Gain Art also mentioned in xBlaze?(one of Izayoi's modes in game)

I take it the CS novel can be considered the canon chain of events for CS considering we don't have a reconstruction version of it yet. Also I forget, was there any other important details added to the novels that weren't in the original?

Zedar89 Since: May, 2013
#35215: Aug 28th 2014 at 5:27:10 AM

[up]For makoto/yuki, at the time of the Interview, don't looks like it. Although, probably unrelated, Makoto doesn't like cats according to her victory quote. Yuki got her parents killed by Ripper (a cat like person) in front of her.

Gain art in Xblaze is when the crystal on a union starts to uncontrollably drain seithr and results in the Union's death.

About the CS light novel, I guess. It was at least written after the console release and it goes through Mori.

[up][up]From what I've seen the majority didn't like it because of Celica, poor girl.

[up][up][up][up][up]Gain art doesn't sound too pleasant, so does that imply that Izayoi(In BB) even after released still has deadly effects on the body? I'm leaning no considering none of her win poses show her in pain like her other form.

That and Terumi's anticlimatic end. Also not sure how I feel about Inazami. Like Saya being evil would've kept the impact of her being the Imperator. Now she's just another victim of manipulation by a greater evil power, bleh.

Like what made Saya being Imperator so great in the first place was how we were lead to believe she was the victim of the NOL the entire time and Ragna was going to save her, only for her to be revealed as the current leader and thus Ragna's true greatest enemy. The audience is caught in the sheer disbelief and shock that everything we were fighting for is actually fighting against us(just like Ragna) and even worse with Jin being right all along, turning the whole vengeance factor right on its head. But as it turns out, OH SHE WAS POSSESSED ALL ALONG!!! thus ruining the surprise quite a bit.

Unless we find out Inazami isn't actually possesing Saya but actually her true identity or something, idk. Evil saya > victim saya.

I just loathed the handling of the story in general. All of the bits and pieces that were flying around during the game's initial release didn't sound especially distasteful, but seeing it all play out like it did definitely puts the complaints into perspective.

That and pretty much every new character in this game sans the Arcade Three didn't leave much of a good impression at all.

[up][up]What's even weirder is that the only one who seems to particularly care about Izanami being Saya is Izanami herself. You'd think that Ragna really was just fighting some random stranger.

[up][up][up]I agree so much. For me though it's also the fact that I'm sick of all the females being victims. (or evil because they are victims.)

[up]When I think back to the story all I can see is Celica, or Kagura and Kokonoe talking about plans.

[down]I actually enjoyed CP, it has a lot more flaws than the previous entries, so I talk about the problems more. And I guess that's the case for Saya, but I'm remembering back to when the spoilers were released making it seem like she was evil, which was shocking.

I'm probably in the minority that didn't really mind CP's story all that much, but I definitely see where you guys are coming from. It just tried to do too much for what little time it had, and it hurts it more than anything.

[up]To be fair, the whole thing about Saya was that everyone thought she was being used by Relius and Hazama for some greater goal, so she was always a "victim" in this case.
