god that was painful to listen to. the funny thing is is that his movie reviews are often good it's just his game opinions annoy me

Thanks to that video, I'm now hooked on almonds.

I used to like him, sure he clearly has no ideal about comic history or just edited it to fit his point and his foaming mouth rants against "hardcore" games makes him a hypocrite. But his Avatar review really pissed me off. So what I'm a jack ass for making fun of Avatar and only started because I'm aping South Park? And I should ignored major flaws in a film?

Uh...I think you missed the point of the South Park / Avatar statement. He's saying if you're going to critique the movie, fine, just don't rehash the whole "Dancing With Smurfs" joke and act like it's shockingly original. It's similar to the TV Tropes fiasco, really.

Original or not, its still a valid point saying that the plot is cliched.

Right, and the Overthinker agreed; he just objected just to (often smugly) treating such a thought as inspired/original/insightful when pretty much everyone else was also saying it.

I really don't have any real opinion on this matter, sadly.

My only thoughts that he must not have had many other topics to cover cine this is jut a simple news report with amusing commentary.

On the other hand, the Natal almost looks awesome enough for me to consider an xbox system assuming it turns out to be any good.

I did find his comment on Sony's boxing game being "if you were to target Wii-Boxing to the "Hardcore" gamer, this would be it" to be amusing and appropriate.

TGO does yet another response to Roger Ebert.

I have to say, I wasn't particularly surprised when he claimed his disagreements were mainly semantics. "Art" is very hard to define today, and what constitutes a "work of art" varies wildly from person to person.

I was also somewhat unsurprised when he ended up comparing the greatest works of art to Super Mario Bros 3. We get it, It's the best game ever. Now please stop mentioning it in every video.

Am I the only one who perceives his constant mentioning of Super Mario Bros 3 as the greatest thing ever to be a joke? I mean, once you call it the Citizan Kane of video games it gets to be pretty obvious he's not being serious.

He seems like he's egotistical and nostalgia blind enough to actually say that with a straight face.

Perhaps it's because my self-esteem is so low, but I always perceived a lot of self-ego inflating as humor since I tend to use it constantly.

@Indigo Dingo: egotistical? What are you, stupid or something? He may be a bit on the nostalgic side, but it's really no more than is expected of any gamer who grew up with the NES. "Nostalgia blind" is a bit harsh, and "egotistical" is just an outright lie.

Hell, the name of the series, you must look at it. Saying he's egotistical is like saying Micheal Bay is a bit focused on blowing things up.

Calling oneself "The Game Overthinker" is egotistical? Why? How? What does it imply to you? The only egotistical abstraction I can glean from the title is "Someone obsessed with Everybody Is Jesus in Purgatory in video games."

Sure, he called himself "obnoxiously intelligent," but that was really more of a Self Depreciation thing he did to make a point.

I believe declaring oneself "obnoxiously intelligent, insanely bitter, and heavily belligerent" in the same paragraph as "volcano based doomsday devices" along wit a picture of Dr.Doom counts as either self-inflating humor or clear cut sarcasm.
