As a regular viewer of the Big Bang Theory, the laughter isn't that eager, but it's a joke they'd tell.
Fresh-eyed movie blogOkay, now I've seen the episode, and that rant about the Matrix smacks of "we're thirty seconds short on this episode, what can we throw together with long shots in CGI and a voiceover?"
Fresh-eyed movie blog"Made by hand (and tentacle)"
And did they Negative Continuity the destruction of Mars? They totally unhappened the destruction of Mars.
Fresh-eyed movie blogWell, IIRC, Mars wasn't actually destroyed at the end of that episode. So either Mars was still habitable or they aired the episodes out of order.
Or they retconned it. Any are a possibility.
Yar har har har har...My guesses are that this episode takes place before the season premiere, or Mars just went back to its orbit again.
The Futurama wiki says that episode ended with Mars still in Earth orbit, so I guess they (probably the Wongs or Zapp's outfit) towed it back in place.
Fresh-eyed movie blogContinuity? No that's for real shows, let's just make more pop culture parodies.
But honestly this episode was pretty good. Yeah it was an Ocean's Eleven parody, but it wasn't obvious about it. It made sense in the context of the story and even if you've never sen the movie it still works. And I like to see Zoidberg get bigger roles.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!Futurama has been pretty good about continuity actually. They set the Earth spinning backward once and showed it doing so ever after.
Fresh-eyed movie blogThis was a pretty "meh" episode, but the room full of charts and Amy saying she wouldn't reveal the full details of her plan until the heist had actually begun were great.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoNobody has an opinion on the nature anthology episode?
Fresh-eyed movie blogYeah for some reason, this thread isn't in the front of peoples' minds.
The nature anthology episode threw me for a loop. The episode in itself was good, but was it fitting for a finale episode of the season? Did they really PLAN for any proper season finale? Also, they already have the Tales Of Interest series they occasionally make so introducing a second what-if scenerio is odd.
Is it just me, or was that season really short?
It was 13 episodes. Which is actually standard for many shows today.
Also, pretty sure it's just a half-season; at least with last season they split it across two years, two batches of thirteen. Don't remember if they did that this year too.

Man, you gotta appreciate how versatile the quotes in Futurama are!
This, for example, can be used in so many contexts...
Amazon Women in the Mood is the greatest episode ever.
"If I said you had a beautiful body, would you take your pants off and dance around a little?"
"I find the most erotic part of a women to be the boobies."
"What is that? Candy? Candy's for dorks! Gimme that!"
"Death by snu-snu!"
"This one's like a summer guy."
"How about you interface with by ass? By biting it!"
"L-E-E-L-A!"
"You win again, gravity!"
"She's built like a steakhouse, but she handles like a bistro."
"I had snu-snu."
snu-snu! I thoght they were saying znu-znu.
"Oh God, your killing me!"
-WHAM-
"Oh God, your killing me!"
I agree with Purple Dalek. Amazon Women in the Mood gets my vote for one of the funniest episodes of anything, ever.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!^^ That's by far my favorite of Zapp's many, many hilarious lines.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Pretty much anything with Zapp in it is gold.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!"Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh."
"I've stopped talking, sir."
"I like to think of myself as a father figure to my more pathetic crewmen."

Wow. That's basically a perfectly accurate version. Props for being able to accurately mimic their writing...although not sure if that's props-worthy...
