Rest assured, this cow will be milked.
Zokuowarimonogatari announced and is confirmed by creators and the translations as the epilogue of the main story, in order to cover up loose ends created by second season and Ononoki. Zokuowarimonogatari literally means "Continuation of the End Story."
Off-season is also confirmed as in production and are mainly side stories the original author made in his free time. SHAFT did say they wanted to finish all of the monogatari novels, so I expect Monster-Season (Which explains Shinobu's backstory) to pop up as well.
So is there, like, a chronological order to all these series? Or can anyone dive in at random?
Keeping your self-loathing around indicates his acceptance of his own flaws and his willingness to continue moving forward in life without trying to change who he is. As long as he keeps it under control and be himself, all things will go well to him in life. Heck Hanamonogatari shows that he is a lot more different than the usual araragi, seeing how he is less about hiding the faults he refused to admit to in Bakemonogatari.
This is further explained in Zokuowarimonogatari, which airs this year.
Reccommended order is broadcast order, you lose a big part of the mystery of the series if going by chronological, plus watching it that order is very confusing as you skip literal episodes just to switch to the next one in a different season.
Watching it at random is literal suicide for the series don't watch it that way.
Broadcast order goes like this: (for me personally)
Bakemonogatari
Kizumonogatari 1, 2, and 3
Nisemonogatari
Nekomonogatari:Kuro
Monogatari Second Season, which contains:
Nekomonogatari: Shiro
Kabukimonogatari
Otorimonogatari
Onimonogatari
Koimonogatari
Next is Hanamonogatari
Tsukimonogatari
Owarimonogatari Season 1
Koyomimonogatari
Owarimonogatari Season 2
And the upcoming Zokuowarimonogatari airing this year.

Yeah chronological order is recommended for rewatches once you've seen everything at least once. That said, Kizu is an odd case. There's the book order which means you can watch it before (How the official English release of the novels did it.) or after (How they were published in Japan.) Bake, chronological so watching it first, or airing order so after Koyomi and before Owari 2nd sseason. It's really up to you. I went in airing order but you can honestly watch Kizu before or after Bake as well.
Speaking of the novels though, I decided to check them out. I'm not going to read all of them but I did decide to go with my favorite arcs so both parts of Nise should be arriving tomorrow.

Yeeeaaah, no, I doubt I'll ever have the time to watch everything twice. But thanks for the advice. Boy this is a mess.
It's not a mess, just watch them in the order they came out. It wouldn't be confusing at all if they were just named Bakemonogatari 1/2/3/4 etc.
Anyone who ever tells you to a watch a series in chronological order (as opposed to the order it's presented) is dumb, imo. Foregone Conclusion is a popular trope for a reason.

Watching it in Chronological is best for a rewatch because it gives you a completely different view on the series in general, particularly the amount of foreshadowing there was in the series. I would recommend watching it a second time chronologically after broadcast. It is without a doubt one of the more enjoyable rewatches I've had.
Necroing because Shaft have made an anime promo video for the manga that I feel is good enough to share.
I recently watched the anime myself and I must say that it is probably my favourite anime that I would never recommend to a friend and after watching this promo, I really want to read the manga.

Knowledge is Power, Guard it Well
Well, that was pretty decent, though I'm not sure of the wisdom of keeping personified self-loathing around
Worked well enough as an ending that I'm not sure if I want any more of the series to get adapted to anime
