Really. Because I saw the week dedicating one day per race. Maybe it's all a plot by those evil whites to devalue Blackout and sneak in their own pics, but my tinfoil hat's in the wash so I'll have to get back to you on that.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.It's not like it's a conspiracy, so much as people being assholes in somewhat organized fashion.
Oh God! Natural light!Umm, what? People organize a week to celebrate diversity and you say some races shouldn't be allowed? Curse those evil white nationalists for wanting to give attention to every race in the world. Please, explain to me how the creation #asianselfieday, #Latinselfieday, #easternselfieday and #nativeselfieday works into the white supremacy agenda

Why is Tumblr so obsessed with the signs?
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.I don't think it's so much that making days for other races is bad on its own, but in the context that Selfie Week was made as a reaction to Blackout it kind of comes across as "Hey, black people are getting a day of their own? No way, it's not fair if they're the only ones, include us too!" And asking for inclusion when most of the time black people are getting excluded by everyone elsenote is kind of an insult to injury.
Nevermind, I was too slow in responding.

Tumblr here. That is a Homestuck thing. I am not terrible sure what the post is about, though. The signs don't match the aspects as they are in Homestuck.
This one in particular is one of those "make Homestucks uncomfortable" things, as each one of those concepts corresponds to a Zodiac troll in Homestuck, but they're flipped around. And like I've said before, generally speaking, it's because everyone has a Zodiac sign and almost everyone knows theirs, so it's very easy to apply it to yourself.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.But if they don't explain the rationally it just seems they are throwing them around at random. It is not fun.
(Incidentally, I though the Sagittarius one seemed correct, but them I realized I was thinking on the wrong horse obsessed dude.)
...So I caved in and joined today. *cue completely shameless promotion*
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?I found this cool video that, although not quite about Tumblr, it is about how ideas propagate through the Intenert, so it applies to Tumblr quite well:
...I always liked Todd.
ophelia, you're breaking my heartThey say you can't write stories based in other locations if you're white ?
They forced Mahou Shounen Breakfast Club (don't have a link) to close just because the story's in Japan and the authors are not Japanese

Who is "they"?
Read my stories!A lot of anonymous people on tumblr who messaged the creators about it
I dunno, a lot of people on Fanfiction.net seem to be content with doing that.
Then again, it's also fanfiction.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I've seem many stories set in "other locations"note written by white people that haven't created any major backslash. In fact, with the exception of Japanese media, most stories set in such places that I know off were written by white people. I would really like to see the full context of that.
Their main tumblr is here and the comic itself here, but I only found out after everything played out (not on my dash)...I'm not aware of where the posts making the allegations are.
I do think saying that they closed it because "you can't write stories about other places if you're white" is a bit of an oversimplification of the complaints. Not sure if I can talk more about this (is this importing drama...?)
Tumblr here. The comments under this post pretty much sum up my thoughts on this matter.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.Well...this looks like a complicated subject.
What I'm wondering is, well, does this mean that a white American is restricted to writing about white American culture (or similar cultures)? Because to me, this would seem to perpetuate the opposite problem - the writer never attempts anything resembling diversity.
Oh God! Natural light!Reading a bit on that situation, I have yet to see anyone to actually argue for that, so I would be cautions before fixing too much on that argument. It risk into becoming a strawman. Yes, no white people could ever writing about other cultures would be shitty, but that doesn't seem quite the reason MSBC stopped.
Personally, from a quick look I find the decision to stop silly. From what it seems, MSBC was both well researched and respectful, so, at first glance, I don't see why it couldn't keep going.
That said, the authors themselves seemed to agree the comic should stop. They weren't pressed or harassed into doing that. The read the argument, argued back, and finally relented agreeing with the criticism. It was their decision, even if one based on feedback. I don't necessarily agree with that decision, but it is their webcomic, their choice. If they don't feel comfortable writing it anymore, than they shouldn't. It seems disingenuous to blame the critics themselves, as if the author had no say in that matter.

Wasn't really planning on seriously claiming that people we're using that argument - I just wanted some clarification. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
And yeah, in the end, it was their decision, as it should be.
Oh God! Natural light!
Maybe selfies aren't in and of themselves, but they way they seem to get used most the time reeks of it.
Though maybe 'narcissism' isn't quite the right word to describe it.
