Accelerator is like Railgun, it's only like...some sort of codename based on their esper ability I thin.
Railgun's name is Misaka. So Accelerator probably have a more normal name.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Story-Breaker Power. Please don't think I mean he's literally cheating somehow. His ability is simply that ridiculously powerful. Guy can walk away from direct nuclear attacks.
Also, Accelerator is not his actual name. It's apparently written with the kanji for 'one way street.' All we know about his real name is that it has three characters in it.
How many episodes are out for season 2? I'm on episode 21 or so of season 1.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Nice. I do wish we'd see more of an over-arching plot though. These 3-4 episode villains are starting to remind me of a Batman marathon.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialWell, we now know another use for fountain pens...
That entire episode was... That was terrible. Even ignoring the ridiculousness of it, Touma went back to the annoyingly bland shonen protagonist from the first season..
He wasn't that bland last season, IMO, but he did get really bland. If anything, the episode had me focused on Stiyl and the Amakusa church guy whose name escapes me. And Index, that power is awesome.
Too bad it got foiled by fountain pens.
Guy can walk away from direct nuclear attacks.
I thought he specifically said that yes, a nuke WOULD kill him (because he still needed to breathe)
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntBreathing? Who the hell needs that shit?
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial^ Accelerator. The one Misaka attempted to fight by suffocating him.
Oh please. He's Accelerator. And he can breathe in space.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialSorry, he's really not likable enough for me to grant him memetic badass status. He has to breath.
Suffocation, starvation, and dehydration will all kill Accelerator. Tele-Frag should, but I hear the author shot that down.
Is it just me or does Accelerator look a tad too thin in the opening of the second season?
I could have sworn he was like, around the size of Touma.
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.^^ Yes, but consider for a moment the likelihood of pulling any of those off. He might as well be a god.
Not to say he isn't a total prick.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial^^ Accelerator is supposed to have the physique of a twig.
^ Problems with suffocation also indicate a weakness to poison gas.
I've heard conflicting things on the nature of Accelerator's power. Like, I've heard that his power is automatic, it's automatic yet he needs to do the math to redirect whatever's coming at him in specific directions, and that he needs to do the math for it to work at all. The series itself, from what I've seen, seems a bit inconsistent on the issue, so I'm just wondering if there's a clear explanation somewhere.
@Accelerator's size: He has the ability to move at super-sonic speeds and can summon the strength of a thousand men, amongst other things, all with his mind. If you could do that, would you feel the need to exercise regularly? I doubt it.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial^^ My guess is that he automatically sends back anything coming at him directly back where it comes from and anything more complicated is what requires the real math skills. The whole brain damage thing isn't the only reason he has trouble using his power. Or at least, not directly; it also impairs his motor skills to the point where he can barely move. I suppose it's still inconsistent considering that the stories involving him seem to work on the basis of him only being able to operate for fifteen minutes at a time. At all.
^ Pretty much, but that just means he's weak. Could have been thin, fat or even normal weight but weak. It just happens to be twiggy.

Not really, he can presumably repel the gas molecules just like he can redirect say, a blow to the head. But with lack of air there's nothing for him to accelerate.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Ent^ Assuming he can detect it before he's breathing it. Honestly, I don't think suffocation should be a problem except in a vacuum considering the wind manipulation we saw him doing. Air currents would bring in oxygen nicely.
I suspect the problem would be that in a really hot fire (like a firestorm-like condition) any air he could bring in would just fuel the fire.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Ent^^^^ Okay, it only really bugged me because he mentions his powers repelling sunlight, explaining his paleness and implying a degree of automatism, and showing him taking multiple people ambushing him without even moving, yet at the end of that arc it makes it look like he can only handle one thing at a time.

Is Accelerator his actual, given name? I sort of thought he'd taken it on.
