I...
I think I have to like these guys.
New information about the mega crossover of Kamachi's series:
-The protagonists find themselves in a large mysterious plain where giant dragons fly.
-This is a strange world where "everything" gathers together.
-This is a story limited to a single day where the way things usually work can be overturned and there is a threat of the easy path being destroyed.
-Cast: -Touma, Index, Mikoto (@Index)
-Quenser, Heivia, Milinda (@HO)
-Shinobu, Zashiki Warashi, Yuki Onna (@Intellectual Village)
-Waltraute, Boy (@Waltraute)
-Kyousuke, Mamoru, Bunny Girl Karen (@A Simple Monitoring)
-Kyouichirou, Murder Princess Satsuki (@Murder Princess and Deep End)
-And more!
A shame there's no way to read the Murder Princess stories before the crossover, though I think I read somewhere some of Kamachi's earlier novels were getting a digital release including those two.

This will be AWESOME.
Change of thought: to the guy who wasn't sure if he should watch the anime, skip the first season of Railgun. For a show whose premise is about a girl with the ability to manipulate electricity... the sheer amount of faffing about, yuri antics, and plots that don't revolve around her electrocuting bad guys is unreal.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).New Short Story Apparently we are getting a short story related to the Misaki figure that was announced a short while ago.
Summary extracted from the scan: One day, Shoukuhou Misaki encountered a delicate miniature of herself capable of speech and movement. In order to find out when the data of her body has been leaked out, Misaki and mini Misaki joins hands to hunt down mini Misaki's creator, using her powers to (the rest is out of the picture). It also appears the story is somehow releated to NT 11.
Man, Kamachi takes any oportunity you give him to write more. At least this explains how Touma might have mini-Othinus with him in AC without raising suspicion. The figure still sucks, though.
So I was watching episode 17/18 of season II and I think I remembered why I like this series again: the cast is insanely diverse and actually decently interesting, and when you put them all together for hijinks it's honestly really entertaining. Makes me wish there was a To Aru: Fumoffu series just to see what the franchise would be like without any of the plot silliness.
deviantArt | TwitterI think that would work rather well. The zaniness of this series works best in absurd comedy that's not based on drama.
I think you see this in a bit in the official parody side stories.
I'm not sure I trust Kamachi's sense of humor given the constant head biting.
You know, if the Raildex series were an RPG, wouldn't playing as Touma be the worst thing ever? His LUCK stat is incredibly low. In a RPG, that means no items, no rare drops, barely any Gil for battles (and mind, this is Academy City, so beating up thugs and machines shouldn't produce money), and Index basically acts as a status ailment.
Playing as Misaka would be far more rewarding.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Touma has the Apocalypse Harem Team though.
Secret SignatureGiven the events of New Testament 9 and 10, should we add Stockholm Syndrome to Touma's character sheet and Lima Syndrome to Othinus' character sheet?
I don't think Stockholm Syndrome applies to Touma, because he's acting no different than he would be towards literally anyone else; he thinks there's something there worth saving, and he'll fight for it.
Othinus... idunno. Maybe.

x4
I'd argue that Index would count as a status buff given her knowledge. Admittedly it probably wouldn't be much of a buff but still.
But if her relationship meter is low, she bites Touma for massive damage!
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Academy City granted Touma residence, but was it ever explained why Touma's parents couldn't live with him?
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Because Academy City has strict safeguards in place to prevent espionage. And because Touma's parents might not want to move to Academy City. They're apparently fairly close by, seeing as how his mom hangs out with Misuzu, and the Misakas live in Tokyo, so it's not like they can't visit.
Also, because Academy City is pretty damn evil.
Mostly the evil. Having adults around would make it harder to manipulate the kids and experiment on them.
Mostly this I'd think. Given that esper powers are basically based on a person being mildly unhinged from reality, having parents around might prevent them from making real progress towards leveling up.
deviantArt | TwitterOr make them harder to manipulate/turn into killing machines.
New Accel Chapter: Yomikawa being a badass like always as Anti-Skill now has to fight DA and their giant robot. Shame their reinforcements are killed by the Scavenger girls who plan to kill them all. Meanwhile Accelerator finishes recharging his batteries and leaves the hospital to join the fight. Apparently no chapter next month. Also, Fuyukawa is sick so no Railgun for another month.

Disappointing, but understandable. Honestly, with the overwork manga artists (and everyone else in Japan, but manga artists are pretty close to the top of that list) go through, it's a miracle we get any content at all. You'd think they'd take more sick breaks.
A short preview about NT 11 translated by entei08 at animesuki:
"When I think about it, it was the same crossing as the one where I met "him"
It was long before the white sister carrying many grimoires escaped the magic side and fell out of the sky that Shoukuhou Misaki first met Kamijou Touma.
Even now, Shoukuhou Misaki remembers the spiky haired boy.
At first, she thought it was just some new way of hitting on a girl
and then, he saw her wearing a swim suit
and then, she hits him with her bag
and then, she experienced an indirect kiss.
and finally
He saved her life
This is one of the only few pieces of happy moments in her life that she can hold dear to.
The strongest mental esper [Mental Out]'s important memory.
The story which unfolds Shoukuhou Misaki's past begins now.
So we still don't know much about the novel except that we'll get Touma/Misaki hijinks, which is fine by me.

Why does Toaru have so many best girls.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialIs anybody pissed that Baka Tsuki has started removing the Index novels from their site? I sure am. I hadn't finished reading them all.
Oh Touma...
