Well, I'm writing a Touhou fanfic, Even A Chance Meeting, that is primarily a mix between a Rom Com and a Shonen Fighting Series, and I'm having trouble with that last part.

While I haven't really planned out any Story Arcs yet, I'm still wondering; How many fights is too many? How many can there be before readers go "Oh, god, not another one"? Also, how long should fights be in the first place? I don't want them to be so short there's no point, but I don't want them to 10 chapters long for just one. Coming up with a Shonen Fighting Series was harder than I thought would be.

Thanks in advance.

Two chapters per fight is a good length, especially if your chapters are long.

As for number of fights overall, it depends on the number of characters.
