Bluespade, I'm reading Land Games right now.

Normally I'd get all caught up and send you my thoughts, but I've been procrastinating, so have this post.

Ah. No, I was just simplifying. "Closed for the night" is easier than "Closed for the rest of the evening and the night". Though I could've said "closed til tomorrow morning", but I figured I was clear enough. [lol]

Any answer that requires all the answers of another question to be wrong is incorrect. Anything inconsistant with all answers to another question is incorrect. Thus, from the first problem, you can take your four possibilities, and thus extrapolate possible answers: If A is the correct answer for question one, then you can assume that that answer is a truth correct for all other questions; the same with B, C, and D. Eventually, the only truly self-consistent possibility will be one containing all right answers and only right answers.

Thus, the longer the multiple-choice test is, the easier it is to determine the one correct possibility. The longer the test is, the more readily apparent the logical inconsistencies of incorrect answers are. For a very long test, it should thus be patently obvious which possibility is the only self-consistent possibility and therefore, right.

The more questions you ask, the more answers you reveal.

Oh look, Chrono Trigger! 8D

Four answers. Three wrong, one right. Therefore, if two answers are the same, they must both be wrong. The right answer is incompatible with the wrong answers. If an answer is inconsistent with a later question, than that answer is wrong, and so is any compatible answers. Any answer that requires a wrong answer to be right to be correct is wrong.

Since the material tested is consistent, most answers can be determined by simple logic and testing for consistency.

You can also see if your answers match a uniform random distribution.

If you can do that in your head you probably deserve to pass any standardized test...

@Seamus: Oh, I think that works well.

[up]I tried to play Chrono Trigger again last year. Unfortunately, it has not aged well. I couldn't play more than an hour or so.

Bah, just ran into a bunch of the same problems I always tend to run into when writing.

I wonder if I should try my hand at fanfic sometime, if only because characterization has always been my weak spot and borrowing someone else's might help.
