Thank you, Yuanchosaan I've also done a bat.
Be not afraid...Noaqiyem: Thanks! In story, she actually has hallucinogenic properties in her wing dust.
Yuanchosaan: Thanks. I was testing some brushes out, I don't know how to use them properly yet, even now.
Fedora Pirate: I apologize about the site. I haven't updated since July, and I don't know if I'll return to that story since I started something that I feel will be better than it. Anyways, I will definately make the background black to make it easier to read, right now.
I barely have any art, and I started coloring one, but the lineart on it isn't that great. This is what I'll be coloring after.
I plan to make the Princess have a friendlier disposition and still keeping her goals, while toning down the Knight's original demeanor. At least for now, unless I figure out something else entirely.
My Twitter!Fallen Legend - err, wow. Thank you! ^///^ I'm definitely not a professional artist, though (sadness) - I can do pencil and kind of ink, and I am slowly teaching myself to digitally art, but I'm pretty ridiculous at anything else (especially involving colour). I'm really flattered that you think my work is realistic - that's something I don't feel like I'm that good at, myself.
JHM - bluuuuuuuuh, I never got around to commenting on your artwork. Yuan's comments were very apt - especially the comparison to Edward Gorey. This◊ and this◊ are probably my favourites - they're both very mysteriously evocative. And the handwriting contributes a lot to it as well. :)
I think the 'messiness' here◊ (and to a slightly lesser extent here◊) is because the density is actually too consistent - I can sort of see shapes, but the shading doesn't really change much to distinguish them or relate them to each other. So overall it looks kind of flat and abstract, and I can't tell whether the areas that are different are supposed to show shadow, or distance, or texture...
Loni - I love your wolf and bat! I think the stylised flames contribute a lot. :D
...I've gotten two grand compliments without posting anything new, which makes me kind of uncomfortable, but I still can't scan anything. Umm. I don't think I've posted any of these before...?

My Twitter!:o Very cool!
@Yuanchosaan: Too true.
Thank you for the feedback on the sketches. I'm actually quite proud of the first and third ones that you mentioned—in the latter case, I'm assuming that you refer to the coffee-drinker—in that I feel that they convey exactly what I wanted them to, or at least something in the neighbourhood. The mention of Gorey made me happy as well; I take a lot of influence from his use of line work to create texture.
That last one is kind of a weird case, as I was actually trying to create something disorienting. The "title" of the sketch is "The World Is...", and the whole premise of the image is built on that one very bleak, sideways pun: The back of an enormous, sickly beast with spindly legs, in which a number of indistinct and alien shapes move and overlap. But yes, I think the sketch hinges a bit too much on the metaphor; I have stronger works in that stream-of-consciousness vein, for sure.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. To answer the question a few pages back about why my lines are so clean:
Unhealthily obsessive perfectionism.
Project progress: The Adroan (102k words), The Pigeon Witch, (40k). Done but in need of reworking: Yume Hime, (50k)That's some awesome collage work, Loni.
The revolution does not require your consent, only your total obedience.
Tidal Wave: Yes, very cool. But that fire would be very hot. Unless you were talking to the poster above me. <_ <
Noaqiyem: Dragons are hype.
Some new, unfinished art.

My Twitter!Oh no, I was talking about you, Fulgrate. I love your work! I can't wait to see what it looks like with background.
Today, I finished a full figure drawing of the magician I doodled earlier. My scanner (as per usual) picked up the shading very lightly, so I suggest turning down the brightness of your screen to view truer shades.
What do you think?
this place needs me hereVery nice! Although the feet look a bit off.
Why thank you! Though, could you specify what it is about the feet that make them look off? Is it the angle? The taste in shoes?
edited 9th Oct '12 2:59:15 PM by Ryuhza
this place needs me hereThe angle. The feet look like their levitating, when they should have a totally different perspective to them.
Read my stories!A couple of other details - his height is about right, but I think his waist should be a bit closer to the height of his right elbow (resulting in a shorter torso and longer legs). And I think his cape should fall over his left shoulder a little differently when he has his arm raised like that, or something? Something looks off there, anyway.
That and the shoes are the biggest problems I notice, though. I really like his costume (especially the little horn design on his hat!) and the look on his face is splendidly devilish. :D
You're welcome!

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableOh man, all these big details I miss after staring at the picture for so long....
Thanks for the feedback!
this place needs me hereSo hey, did you guys know I build Mine Z Towns? Well now you do.
A friendly flower, and your best friend. He has a knack for funny faces.A WIP I actually took the time to paint in detail. Really, it's more or less "done" except the background and effects so I figured I'd post it here. Better than my sketchy colours at least.
@Ryuhza - I rather like that piece. The face is really nicely rendered (though, I gotta agree on the feet).

I can't take Aryanistan seriously as a name, though. :/ Could I suggest Meluhha? It's not perfect, but I think it's a bit better...
iPhone is only a barely adequate substitute for scanner◊
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableTo be honest, I actually rather like the name "Aryanistan". "Aryan" does come from Indo-Iranian languages like Persian.
My DeviantArt Domain My TumblrI know that, but that doesn't keep it from sounding silly to me. The internal rhyme may be part of it.
