Seriously though, Wolf Spider is an amazing concept and I'm surprised I haven't seen it before. Also, look at Heather go, with that knowledge of spider genus!

Or she grabbed some hairs from a friend's puppy and carries it around to hide her identity if she feels the need to superhero like she's right now saying she needs and does.

We don't take issue with the fact that she's using werewolf or canine DNA to hide her identity. We take issue with "when was this ever hinted at before, that there was any source of it around, that she could combine DNA sources (the paid version apparently had this story), and that she prepared a combination of exactly what was needed to help them out within minutes of Spinny and MM being in danger?"

... Spinny has interacted with the Werewolf of London, Ontario, guys. Obviously that's where the werewolf appearance comes from.

...and she fortunately happened to bring a DNA sample home for Sahira to hold on to indefinitely until they went to go visit Heather's hometown?

What I'm saying is that she straight up declares having prepared some canine dna for disguise and getting some of that is trivial. She doesn't even need a superdogperson, she gets superpowers from Heather, so any neighbour's pooch will do to throw into the mix.

Like, I get why people are assuming London or Minerva are involved 'cause they're werewolves, and that raises the question of when she ever met London or Minerva. But the only connection this page has to London or Minerva is, itself, assumed. As far as we know, she just needs "canine DNA". There are non-werewolf sources of that.

Some things don't need to be shown. Mundane things. We don't spend three issues watching the Punisher load all of his guns before every fight.

I already said Canine DNA is probably fine. And I'm not asking for much. Just saying she got hair from some dog would be fine, as a more clear explanation.

I think we're about to have a private identity reveal between Heather and her dad, which may lead to Papa Brown collapsing from the strain of the conflict between his fatherly love/protectiveness for his daughter and the drug-induced mind-control, thereby both preventing the worst from happening and demonstrating the limits of the drug (basically, it's not much different from a super-strong version of hypnosis).

I hope that happens.

Of course, the best case scenario would be that Papa Brown is just faking being mind-controlled because even though he also eats the cakes, he was also eating stuff at home (a home recipe that's a specialty of the Brown family, perhaps) that contained chemicals which just happen to react with the drug in such a way that it's completely neutralized.

I doubt it. Between abducting Spinny and shooting Sahira, he's been Sara-Nicole's best minion. It'd be a bit of an Ass Pull to reveal he was totes faking the whole time.

The former happened while he was surrounded by other mind-controlled people. As for the latter, apparently Sara-Nicole is close enough to the scene that she can clearly hear what Papa Brown is saying, so logically he's trying to keep up appearances and opted to use the beanbag rounds as a plausible way for him to take down Sahira without actually harming her and not raise Sara-Nicole's suspicions... which might lead to him suddenly turning around and KO'ing Sara-Nicole with the butt of his gun once she makes the mistake of getting too close to him while they're out of view and hearing range of the mind-controlled townsfolk, allowing him to plausibly lie to said folk about why the girl is out like a light.

I think she is just speaking over the speakers.

As for spoiler tags... I think it's because there's an unwritten 5-post-rule regarding talking about potentially spoiler-y stuff in new strips.

Yeah, it's a common courtesy to keep detailed comments about new pages in spoilers for about five posts. So that people who just check the thread won't accidentally catch them before reading the update themselves.

As the person who actually formalized that rule back in the day, I'd never intended it to be so strictly adhered to for works that update more than once a week. Of course, glad to see the courtesy's still done.

Like, at a bare minimum, the post that actually contains the link should pretty much always have its commentary in spoiler-tags so people don't see the commentary before the link.

That little girl might not have been alive at that point. And even if she was, that's the kind of thing that kids aren't going to notice. People going into a rage in the middle of a festival? Yeah, she'll notice that.

I'm pretty sure this is going to end with Sara-Nicholle getting help. Or, at the very least, everyone says she needs help before she escapes to continue drugging herself so she can be a villain.
