Hell I would be pissed as all hell if someone fucked up a wedding I was planning for a long-ass time.

She's a Bridezilla even if the wedding isn't supposed to be hers.

Given all the things that went wrong for Linlin in the span of a couple minutes, I'm surprised she's still able to form coherent words while attempting to murder the Bege castle.

It must be a testament of how she hates Bege right now for betraying her.

I mean, if I was in Linlin's position, I'd probably be so mad I'd only be capable of bestial screams of rage.

In that case, I would be cowering in fear as well from her wrath.

While it is good that the emperors are living up to their hype, I don't want Big Mom sticking around after this. Luffy is going to need to overcome the Emperors eventually, and it'd be nice to see some progress after so damn long. The longer the emperors stay as something the strawhats can't deal with, the more this series has to resolve.

I just figured that defeating them is going to get resolved in that giant war that's been foreshadowed that's probably like five years off (if we're lucky).

I say that it would be some Fairy Tail like writing if they beat Big Mom, because I do think at this point it proves that the Emperors shouldn't be underestimated.

I don't really see Big Mom as something that has to resolved at all. Just, like, they've gotten what they need here, so just fuck off and never come back. Like, as a 'sure, she's bad, but she's also not our problem and we don't have the ability to get rid of her anyway, so oh well' sort of thing.

They should fold their hands, and run while they still have their lives.

I can imagine she'll show off her full power against the other Emperor's in the final war.

It occurs to me that Big Mom is almost like an inverse Worf Effect

there's that whole 'King of the Pirates' thing that Luffy is going for.

Never dealing with some of the top contenders for the spot would make that goal feel incomplete.

They are the top contenders for a reason, and they should live up to their hype so that fans won't be disappointed that the main characters are really given a challenge. So, far I like that Oda is not making the protagonists invincible and make them realize that they can't underestimate a Yonko's strength like they did this time.

The strawhats are clearly at a huge disadvantage even with help, they're not going to look invincible if they win.

If anything, the emperors are the ones feeling too invincible and it is starting to remind me of how the pre-timeskip arcs started to drag once we got to Luffy just constantly being outclassed by everyone and unable to do much for a looooooong stretch of time.

if you mean me, I mean how the word effect is someone who falls to prove how badass the other guy is, Big Mom is constantly shrugging off attempts to outright kill her outright and treating through the best defense our guys have. I wasn't thinking of it as a straight example since we've seen no attempts until now to really take her in a straight fight.

I expect the Emperor's to be defeated in epic team-ups between the Supernovas in raid battles.

Blackbeard is the only Emperor I expect Luffy to face off in a one on one slugfest.

I expect the thing that should happen is team ups, which is probably something that will happen in the Wano arc.

I mean, I could see Big Mom losing here, in that she gets knocked out just long enough for the Strawhats, Germa 66, and Bege and his group to get the hell out of dodge, at which point Big Mom wakes up pretty much none the worse for wear. Then she'd get beaten for real by the time of this great war.

@Saiga, I think the Pre Time Skip was awesome and being more like it would be a plus and not a minus.

Early pre-time skip I'd agree. But from Saobody to the end of the war it got really tiresome seeing how outclassed Luffy was. The idea isn't bad, it just went on for too long.
