I sort of want to see the Revolutionaries go after the Nefertaris as WG enablers by proxy, just to see what Luffy would do if he had to choose between Sabo and Vivi.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I don't know if they will, but I think some very extreme revolutionaries would do that.
I've been wondering if something like that would happen: I did kinda get the impression during Sabo's little speech—back when he first got the powers of the Mera-Mera fruit— that he might be a bit of a Knight Templar when it comes to not just World Nobles, but nobles period (with good reason mind you, but still). Plus I'd love to see Luffy being forced to choose between his oldest friend, who he just got back, and a newer one who could have easily been a part of his crew.
One Strip! One Strip!Sabo mentions during his fight with Fujitora that he hates all WG affiliates equally, even "good" ones like his current opponent.
One of the few things I find actually interesting about him tbh.

Yeah there is a lot of potential there.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."A friend of mine proposed a hypothetical:
Let's say Sabo meets Coby. Sabo learns that Coby comes from Garp's unit, and Sabo personally resents Garp for his insistence on siding with the marines in the battle over Ace's execution. Sabo becomes excessively brutal towards Coby in retribution. Coby takes heavy damage early in the battle and becomes physically unable to fight back, but Sabo keeps pouring it on. Then, Luffy arrives.
Whose side does Luffy take?
I think Sabo vs Coby was the topic of my very first post in this thread.
In a situation like that? Colby's, I don't even think he'd have to think about it. He'd still love Sabo, but loving him has nothing to do with whether he'd think he'd deserve to get his ass kicked for going too far.
Well Luffy did choose Ace over Coby.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."That was different though; Ace was going to die, and he only punched him in the face.
I don't think Luffy makes a distinction with things like this if he feels someone he cares about has been wronged, even if it's by someone else he cares about.
For some reason, I don't think that scenario is going to happen.
Well now I hope it does.
It would be a surprisingly complex situation especially for a guy like Luffy.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Huh. He might be suffering from a class based version of My Species Doth Protest Too Much. He probably hates that he was a part of that life, and that he let those things go on for so long, so he's overcompensating by simply targeting all of the equally. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. They are World Government (or connected to them) so they're on his hit list.
Those proposed scenarios with Vivi and Colby may actually be on the table now.
One Strip! One Strip!I also hold to my speculation that Cobra might bite it at Reverie, though probably at the World Nobles' hands, not the Revolutionaries'.

If he starts asking questions, then they will have to shut him up permanently.
That was my idea, yeah.
Who knows, maybe seeing a Noble kill a sitting head of state in cold blood will even make Sakazuki's small heart grow a few sizes?

It would be a miracle that he actually grow a conscious.
He's fed up with the Nobles' excesses to the degree he's willing to chew out the Five Elders for supporting them - though admittedly his complaint was less about morals and more about the fact that having to constantly clean up their messes is bad for PR.

Yeah, even when he has a point he still comes across as being a dick.
Also, Oda just revealed Vivi's whole arc and importance was made up on the spot! This is surely a huge wrench to the "Oda Plans everything" way of thinking. I really dont mind it though.

I do wonder that if he still made Vivi a one shot character then the manga would have remained a five year long thing as Oda planned.
You really to wonder why 4Kids picked up this series. You could tell they never read any of the source material and probably just picked it up because it "looks kid-friendly".
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
In truth, they never wanted it in the first place because Toei just shoved it in their laps and they just did their usual practices without really knowing how much material was in there that was not up to American general audiences standards.
Honestly, One Piece is just as kid-friendly as they would've been hoping for. Their problem was turning it into a show that was too childish for me when I was 12, while meanwhile I happily watched pokemon every day.
The problem wasn't making it 'kid-friendly' it was that they were trying to market to a non-existent form of child. Twelve-year-old me, could, for example, tell how completely ridiculous it was for Kuro to be threatened with a slingshot instead of a gun. "Maybe that's some magic, super-deadly slingshot they set up in an episode I missed?", my young mind rationalized, while still being completely unable to take the scene seriously. Because at what age does the idea of attempting to hold someone hostage with a slingshot make sense? None. That doesn't make sense to anyone.
And, indeed, I feel fairly sure that whoever actually made the edit knew it made no sense. Probably they were just desperately trying to think of a workaround to the sweeping censorship rules created by someone who'd never actually watched the series. Rules designed that based on an adult's idea of what was kid-friendly, not what kids were actually capable of handling.

Yeah, the "Save The Whales" campaign wasn't as strong in the 2000's as it was in the 90's, but you still have people who did environmental issues once in a while.
