I am trying to remember if the last episode aired on the 19th or 20th. Wikipedia says 19th, but I remember it was late at night.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. It was less airing and more "posted online".
Yeah it showed up on Netflix, and it was late at night either on Thursday or Friday, and it ended with 24 hours of The Colbert Report and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. And White Collar, apparently (I had lost track of it halfway through its run). Busy night, that was. Can't believe it's been so long.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.Yeah. Happy two year anniversary! Where are those fucking comics!?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.June next year last I heard.
Oh dear. I spent eight months of joy ignoring that the sequel to the first ATLA movie had been announced. Now that I heard of it I am deeply depressed. Ignorance truly is bliss sometimes.
... You just ruined my day. How dare you.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets....Ignoring audience and critical reception for a moment...this is profitable??

Oh God! Natural light! So, just for reference's sake, that first live-action movie came out... when, exactly?
8 years for a sequel. Avatar, and...the other Avatar. That sounds about right.
Lies and slander!! I don't believe it for a second.
I have a mighty need for moar Korra in recent days.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.M. Night is gonna try to out grim dark Justice League from all his interviews.
Trainwreck ahoy. Will they at least recast everyone?
I think the first movie came out in 2010, one year after Avatar.
Other Avatar came out for Christmas 2009, Last Airbender sometime in 2010. I'm guessing if they actually do go ahead with the Airbender sequel, they'll both come out in 2018 or later, just based on not having heard anything about filming having started.

Great, we get to hear more about Oong and the benders who can barely bend a pebble.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Ideally, there will have been changes based on feedback from the first one.
I'm not that interested in it either way though. Still all about that Korra comic. Korromic.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHow exactly would it make any money though? They'd have to recast all the actors and it's not like the movie even has a cult following. Who would go see part two in a trilogy that started almost a decade ago? I guess if they wanted to they could try to reboot it but that typically wouldn't involve the previous director.
edit: If Nick really wants an Avatar movie I think they should do Wan's story. It introduces the concept to people and his origin was already a mini-movie in a sense. Just expand on certain aspects of his training and the characters and they're golden.

tl;dr: M. Night has the rights to all three films, defends first film as being for kids (we don't need to put effort into it!) and vows to make a sequel. This sounds kinda personal for him.
It feels even worse when you realize that that absolute trash heap of a film made $319 million worldwide, making more than twice its budget, meaning it was a commercial success despite how shitty it was. No wonder Nickelodeon is so willing to let keep arrogant hack of a director at the helm.

Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets. It is personal for him. Despite all evidence to the contrary, M. Night is actually a huge fan of Avatar and wanted to give it an amazing adaptation that would blow audiences away and bring the cartoon to life for fans on the big screen.
That's part of why it was so awful. He blew all his money early on in things like location. By the time the film got around to elements like effects, they had to go cheap because there wasn't any cash left. That pebble dance was supposed to have a bunch of awesome earthbending effects going on, but because Shyamalan got too excited and blew his cash wad early, we got the f*cking pebble.
Another part, of course, is because it's Shyamalan. The characters are all stale and wooden because have you ever seen an M. Night Shyamalan film? His characters always talk like that. He's worse than Christopher Nolan in that regard.
So, yeah, he was a terrible person to make the original film and it only got worse because he screwed up so hard, but one thing he does have is passion for the franchise. And that's also a problem. If he didn't care about it, he'd take his paycheck and move on. But because he loves the franchise and wants to do it justice, he's going to keep bringing us terrible films.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.But how is he going to do a sequel 7 years later? The first one did bad enough. Who would go to the second one? Recasting the actors would also be a major problem.
Recasting the actors could be to the film's benefit if it means they can throw out the racial reassignments that the first film did.
I mean, I'm not going to defend the upcoming sequel any more than anyone else, but I'm at a loss for how throwing out the godawful original movie's cast is in some way a bad thing. The last thing any Avatar adaptation needs is faithfulness to The Last Airbender.

I dunno I don't recall her looking all that different in season 4, at least not physically weaker.
I could be wrong though, it's been awhile.
