I have officially had enough of trying to puzzle through Aesop Rock's lyrics.

The Japanese rap and hip hop scene is bloody brilliant, and man am I sad that it lost one of the greats.

That is sad. I've only heard a couple of tracks from Bullshit as Usual but they're beauts.

I'm sorta confused as to how someone can listen to someone rapping in a language they don't understand.

Singing yes, but rapping?

Japanese rap is actually usually better if you don't know what they're saying, as the lyrics are generally rather inane.

About Illmatic? It's not that bad, actually. Just not "classic" material.

It's a classic. It does deserve credit, and is a good whole, but kinda lacks a focal point.

Gotta check out some Nujabes.

Nujabes actually rapped in English- kind of like how Nightwish sings in English, too.

Nujabes did a fair bit of work for Samurai Champloo, if I remember correctly.
