"Tele Mundus" Awesome
Though El Donte's first mustache was better.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).The mustach devil trigger was amazing.
If the timer don't tick, the host musta quit. And I hadn't noticed, but the guy also moded the HUD. >__<
Also it's funny how the musics actually sound more fitting than the official ones. Well, I don't know about the Gispy Kings' Hotel California…

Ace Combat Zero scientifically proved that mexican music makes for great boss fight music.
I've been watching Mximilian's playthrough of the Vergil DLC, and while I believe that it is in general actually better than the main game (especially since I think is has a much better boss fight than the other bosses), it has what I think is a very glaring flaw; the level design with the floating platforms and the bottomless pit below are absolutely horrible for Vergil's very mobile style of gameplay. Having to always be mindful of the edge of the platform you're on looks like it's extremely frustrating for a character that dashes all over the place, and you're constantly having to fight on rather small platforms.
It's not a problem usually encountered in the main game with Dante because you're usually fighting on either solid ground or an enclosed area, but Vergil's DLC is almost nothing but floating platforms, and it's a real shame that there are so few opportunities where it's safe to cut loose.

@Enkufka: Yeah, I couldn't really think of the theme because I've been working for so long on my novel every night, I hardly have caught any sleep, turning my brains to mush. Or mash, I forgot which of the two was correct.
Signatures are for lamers.I'm noticing the opposite reaction in other places. People that like the game hate the DLC because it comes off as a soulless cash-in, what with the recycled environments, only a couple new enemies, one mission being essentially a repeat, the boss fight being uninspired even in comparison to the main game, and (for some) the motion comic cutscenes ala Infamous.
No color coded enemies, therefore it is automatically superior.
I can drink to that.
But I won't because I'm straight edge.
I can drink to that too.
But I won't because it's a fucking Tuesday.
Fuck it. *gets hammered*
Follow me on Twitter, I'm pretty awesome http://www.twitter.com/ZekeFreekMaximillian and Matt discuss why DmC failed in sales expectations.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiIT WASN'T ABOUT THE HAIR!
I love how they brought up Bionic Commando. Same thing happened to Final Fight. Wonder if there are any others...
I usually feel like I'm on the same level as Max, but I don't think I can agree with all of his opinions, especially when it comes to DMC. For one, I think original Vergil is still way cooler and more interesting than the new one, and new Dante is not that much like old Dante.
Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is?

Why did they have to bring up the hair again?
Also, I really don't think that New!Dante is a cursing, more douchey version of Classic!Dante, as Max and Matt said in the video. New!Dante is what you'd get if you sicked out all of Classic!Dante's personality and replaced it with douchebaggery, cursing, blandness, and a microscopic smidge of altruism.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Well guys, those are just kinda their opinions on certain elements and not the main subject at hand.
The main subject here being that Dm C failed on prospect of being an entirely different, unappealing style. How much would you have to agree with this? Or is the core game really that bad that it failing was justified other than for the different style?
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiI do agree with the point overall. It's just that the YMMV bits can't really be ignored by some people (myself included).
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I guess it just kinda bothers me when people focus on those smaller, more insignificant opinions rather than the main one at hand. No offense.
"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiI think it failed to be a hit mainly because of the severe shift in style, which led to a lot of other negative BS which just made things worse for what is really a decent game. I do think it probably would have sold better if the combat was better, because then it probably would have appeased more of the hardcore gameplay fans that could overlook the change in style.
I think the same kind of applies to the story too. It's not so much about the story being worse or better than the old games, just how very different it is in terms of style and tone that puts old fans off. Which is why making the argument "the old games had a dumb story too" isn't a good defense for this game, since it's not really the plot itself old fans have a problem with.

Yeah. It was the tone shift that snowballed into a ton of other problems.
Max'n'mat where right though. In a way, the hair is a great example of what went wrong. They changed a lot, and the devs strawmanned the fans into a bunch of whiny crybabies by saying stuff as superficial as the hair was all they cared about. This needlessly antagonistic approach to the people that where supposedly supposed to buy their game killed a great deal of potential buyers. So yeah, in a lot of ways Dante's hair color really is the crux of the problem... Just not directly. It was a big deal because the devs made it a big deal. And the big deal bit them in the ass.

That's currently my favorite description of why you should never be a dick to any portion of your customer base.
A thought struck me about Kat when I was watching Extra Credits. Their last 2 episodes have been about handling exposition in games, and how most examples of it are not good.
One thing they touched on was comparing Glad Os to the professor in Quantum Conundrum, and what I remember most from that was how, while both have a great deal of information as part of their dialogue, the professor's doesn't go much beyond that, while Glad Os's does impart a great deal of information about the world and her personality.
It seems that Kat has the same sort of problem, that she basically does an infodump about her backstory rather than providing more about her personality and such.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryI have one good thing to say about this game.
Vergil's gameplay is good, although the choice of not giving him a double jump is odd.
To balance the scales of my positive comment, I will say this.
Vergil's Downfall story might have just been 2deep4me.
There was a "ur a faget" Vergil in the Sky.
Donate money to Skullgirls, get a sweet poster. That's all I will say about the video.
