As many of you may know, we're currently at a stand-still because we lack the necessary artists to begin work on any of the visual aspects of the project.

So, in this thread we will discuss our plans to recruit the necessary artists for

  • Concept art
  • Storyboarding
  • Actual production
(Needed in that order, of course, but not necessarily with that priority.)

Anyone have any ideas?

The fora now has an artists section. Perhaps we should hit that up...

You know, all we have to do is come up with some standards for production, and I'll put out a call in my deviantART journal.

[some sort of intro here]

We're looking for artists who can draw in a style similar to that of Bernard Chang. Prospective artists should choose the type of position they are applying for and submit artwork that fits the criteria listed below.

Character Artists

  • Draw at least three of the seven main characters in the specified style.
    • At least one character of each sex should be represented.
    • Check our Concept Art Descriptions page for character descriptions.
  • Draw at least three fictional characters of your choice in the chosen style, with at least three source styles represented (general live action counting as a single style, of course).

Background artists:

  • Draw at least three different types of terrain (forest, beach, city, etc.). One must feature artificial structures.

Vehicle Artists:

  • Draw an RV, modified for combat (your own interpretation).

Storyboarders:

  • At least two storyboard sequences, one focused on action and the other on dialogue/emotions.
  • A script to work with can be found here.

Is this good for posting in the artist forum? What should we add for the intro?

I haven't been able to come up with a good intro yet. In other words, it's going nowhere fast.

Has anybody considered just finding a Deviant Art artist who takes commissions and setting up some sort of donation system to get the first few episodes off the ground?

Attracting artists for future episodes would likely be easier if you had a sample of the finished product to show off. Especially if said product was awesome.
