Hes on the bus to appear out of nowhere at time you least expect it of course =P
We ought to have a trope like that... Chekhov's Gunman? Either way, I'm fairly certain that Mary Sue is going to come back either as one of the villains or returning to the Big Damn Heroes.
But I hope he's a villain so they can kill him. Something about him creeps me out.
^^^ Some are speculating that Odo of the Scourge was actually Oboro, and I think I've read on Manga Helpers that in the japanese version his speech patterns are similar but.. don't quote me on that.
They have similar names too...and Odo did say something that implied he was someone Ageha knew.
03 put up a good fight, especially considering he was up against a pyrokinetic.

I hope haven't killed Frederica...
But yeah, they'd better kick Oboro's ass now.
hmm, so oboro is odo is the new chapter out yet and is there any kind of explanation for why he'd join the wise? He seemed like he was going to do his own thing.
Also, does anyone know how psyren is doing ratings wise?
I remember when the series first came out, I was on mangahelpers and they were discussing how the author had been putting fail safes in every arc towards each meeting so that he could end it easily in case it was cancelled. I haven't seen any failsafes since the arc where ageha and co. are off trying to track down the thing that'll detonate the chips in the grigori kids' brains (although this rescue arc could just as easily turn into a battle royale/grand finale), so I was wondering if Psyren has finally found its audience in japan.
Also, the colour page in ch 123 was.....pretty cool

^ I'd agree. if he's not doing it for ageha and the team, then he's doing it for his own motivations or as a separate villain of his own.
Yeah, either is possible, since while I doubt he actually sees Ageha and crew as enemies, I also trust him about as far as I can throw him.
Either way, he's certainly against the WISE in this particular conflict, and enemy of my enemy and all that.
Bump. We finally have chapter 130 scanlation. Enjoy!
That guy needs a good kick in the face.
But despite his utter Sueness, I can't help feeling that, based on what's happened in other parts of the story, his Sueness is going to get subverted or deconstructed somehow. Hell, it already might be.
^ Well, for once, I can't see him going back to present at least for now.
I suspect he'll get fried by sunlight somehow.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Sueness? I don't see it. Maybe if it wasn't for the fact that the other characters are throughly creeped out by him you'd have a point, but as things are...
I think Oboro definitely has some Sue traits (probably intentionally).
- He's a pop star who is regarded as very attractive in-universe.
- He develops powers very soon after entering Psyren.
- He takes the strongest Rise user in half of Japan by surprise the first time he uses Rise.
- He gets a whole bunch of Tavoo cores with no visible ill effects when even two are considered highly dangerous.
But here's where the Deconstruction comes in:
- He's an idiot.
- He's amoral.
- He will probably die painfully as a result of all those Tavoo cores.
Lot of dramatic twists in that chapter. Kise and Oboro are both about to die, Misura is about to do a Grand Theft Me on Marie, Misura is some kind of alien or something, Fredrica is badly wounded, and Ageha and Amamiya have entered the fray.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Seems to me that the manga is speeding up. Maybe it's at risk of being axed again?

It's been at risk of being axed before? Damn, that would suck.
Sometimes it's hard to remember that these are actually in a magazine, which is probably bad.

Yeah, this arc is definitely moving towards a conclusion. If Oboro and Kise die, there will be 6 villains left: Misura, Miroku, Grana, Junas, Shiner, and Caprico. There will also be 6 combat-capable heroes left: Shao, Kabuto, Ageha, Amamiya, Hiryuu, and Tatsuo.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Or they'll screw up badly, and they'll go back in time again. That's my bet.
Five posts, no more spoiler tags.
I actually suspected that Misura might have been the alien. I rate Vigo's chances of victory very low, but I do think he'll hold out long enough for Shao and Kabuto to get there.
this manga is awesome. but am I the only one womdering just what the heck happened to Oboro? I mean the guy got dropped into a whole and was just left there. I mean we know what happened to Hiryu and stuff but with Oboro we dont really get a lot.
