The only good part of Makoto's social link is where she slapped her stupid friend.

annnnnnnnnnd that's the asnwer done. Sucks that it wasn't in portable, I would have played that if only to punch Erebus in the face.

And although he's probably the top contender for Enemies that pop out of nowhere (although it's probably not smart from me to bring back that debate), I'm not bothered by it because even once he's revealed it's not like he's the mastermind behind it all, he's really just the personification of the idea that sets the plot in motion. In a sense you could say he was there all along, the plot just never stopped to think about it until now.

As for the personas, I really liked the group dynamic of 3, because it actually reminds me a lot more of how my friends tend to function, with each one having his own struggles and coming around it or not and not necessarily being best friends with every single one of them. I have a few friends that go through the same style of struggles than the cast of 3 and I found their depiction pretty much on point. I have zero qualms against the concept of the investigation team or the phantom thieves tho, I just like the p3 cast the way it is.

As for the music, P4 has the very major problem of having reach out to the truth that I actively hate. But i'll face myself is half of my favorite song of all times (the other one being Libera Me from Hell), i'll face myself battle is on par with willpower of 5, pursuing my true self and time to make history are excellent, soooo so long p4g don't spam R Ott T I'll probalby love it.

Persona 3 and 5 so far I have no music I actively hated though. And everything I've heard in the ost of 5 even If it didn't initially left a big impression I ended up loving it. Life will change, river in a dry land...

I'mma downlaod a bunch of osts tonight, that's for sure.

The point of Makoto's link was that Makoto is always right and doesn't need to change at all.

And poor Yusuke wasn't even looking at Ann but got punished, not to mention it sometimes seems that enemies target him more. The game conspires to make him suffer.

Also, while the story of P3 is interesting, I don't think I can ever play it since P5 is apparently such a step up from it. I watched playthroughs of P4, and I gotta say that it is the least interesting to me since the presentation is not my thing.

EDIT: It is ironic that Makoto got snuffed in her own Confidant considering her popularity.

For me, truly great music needs to be accompanied by something else of equal goodness. For example, one of P4's best songs is:

Why? Because Home is one of the best parts of P4. The Dorms in P3 sucked because all anyone ever talks about is tutorial stuff. And P5 you live alonein an attic with a cat thing.

P4 established a real atmosphere of home, with a loving family and everything. I cared about the people I lived with and looked forward to returning there.

[up][up]Honestly, even knowing most of the plot of P5, I find P3's still a perfectly enjoyable experience as of nowadays. For a game that's like ten years old, he's aged rather well. It mostly depends whether or not the themes of the story resonate with you, if they do, play it, it's a solid game. P5's moslty a step up un terms of gameplay from what i understood.

For Persona 3, its main weaknesses in terms of gameplay are:

1. AI-controlled party members. Can be controlled manually in P 3 P.

2. Buffs/debuffs MUST wear off before they can be reapplied. This is very bad because that Tarunda might be the only thing keeping you or an ally alive on harder difficulties but you MUST let the boss get a free turn to attack you before you can weaken them again. This was fixed In P 4 G, maybe even vanilla P4.

3. Tartarus is rightly regarded as super bad.

If you can get passed all these things, I think ti's rather fun. I enjoyed its difficulty and had no problem replaying it even after P 4 G's many improvements.

Something metal, maybe with betrayal, something involving former friends like a tale of revenge.

Ooooh Afro Samurai would be good.

[up][up]Eh, tartarus is bearable. Like, it's nothing great or memorable on it's own, and it really lacks something to help feeling you're not just grinding in prevision for the next fight, but if you can be ok with the idea of grinding while climbing a giant tower, you'll be alright. But that's undoubtedly the part where having played p5 or even 4 will probably hurt the most.

And the debuff thing I noticed it, but I didn't ever lose a battle because of it, so while it is annoying, it's not aggravating like MARIN FUCKING KARIN can be.

God fucking dammit erebus's theme is dope.

It perfectly nails that overall feeling of that battle where everyone has come to terms with their personnal struggles and just stopped caring, they're here to stare into the abyss and make it blink first. the part where the guitar goes all melodic sounds like the embodiment of Shut Up, Hannibal!.

I was pretty surprised when I found Makoto to be more interesting in the main story then in her own Social Link, when I usually find it to be the opposite. I guess it helps they she (kind of sort of) gets two palaces worth of focus as opposed to everyone else.

It would not surprise me if they do a sequel story with one of the old cast as the protagonist (a la The Answer and Eternal Punishment) if she ended up being chosen as the new protagonist.

You know that picture in the vid reminded me: was Metis ever confirmed to be a shadow of Aegis? Feel like the devs should have given a flat yes or no at this point.

Also I'm kind of curious what Elizabeth and Labrys and Sho are up to now...it felt like Elizabeth had her own fool journey years ago but she kind of vanished. I think labby is with the p3 crew but I miss her.

I'm semi-sad I skipped The Answer when I played FES. But it's like, after 80 hours, I didn't want any more Persona 3, especially not grindfest Persona 3 where the plot is a fraction of what you'll be doing. I'm mostly sad it apparently retconned the ending of P3 so I don't know what the hell is even happening. Like, it wasn't Nyx I fought at the end of the game? And the Protagonist didn't die? Annoying.

At least spoiler tag that stuff, several said they haven’t played.

But anyway The Answer didn’t retcon anything, it did clarify what we already knew. the final battle basically killed his body and he used his soul to seal access Nyx becoming the literal messiah, all he could do after that was have his body survive those last 2 months to complete the promise of seeing the end of the year with everyone.

What The Answer does is show that the MC basically gave the gift of life to Aigis to carry on as his last act. It’s very clear when you read the lyrics of the ending songs of both games. New game plus of P 3 P let’s you change who was there when his body finally gave out but is non canon and contradicts The Answer.

In Arena it is further clarified that Liz is looking for a way to let the MC’s soul rest and finally let him fully die and making The Answer canon over P 3 P.

[up][up][up][up]nah, you were still fighting nyx and the protag still died.

The answer just establishes that just like yaldabaoth and izanami, there's a manifestation of the collective unconscious for the desire of death, and this thing is what actively calls nyx. That's Erebus. The protag isn't sealing Nyx in the final battle, he's putting a seal between erebus and nyx so erebus can no longer reach it. Since erebus's no longer calling her, nyx Just returns to minding her own business. It's worth mentonning Erebus isn't sentient or intelligent tho, it's literally just a big monster that embodies a concept.

as for metis being shadow aigis, it seems pretty obvious to me. A shadow is your repressed emotions and Aigis reppressed all of them, which is why she looks like a functionnal individual at first sight. Much like shadow futaba

Also Nyx herself is just a mindless god in that shell, healing from the impact with the earth, her actual psyche is trapped on Earth split between every human as their shadows while The Great Will enables Earth a degree of self defense in the form of Gods and Persona.

She awaits the healing process to be complete and the catalyst to her awakening an amalgam of her psyche big enough and of the arcana that should not exist (death) to spark it. The man made one is the Nyx Avatar created by Mitsuru’s grandfather and the natural one is Erebus.

The MC became the great seal preventing either from making contact. Liz is searching for a way to make the great seal unnecessary as well as knocking Erebus down a peg each time it gets power enough to start beating on the seal.
