The Personarap reminded me that I actually have some amount of disposable income again. Hm. I dunno whether I want to get a PS3 or PS4. And I don't actually own a TV anymore either.

Bleh, something to think about.

I totally forgot you could do that. That makes this more feasible.

Well, guess I just need to decide if I want a prettier P5 and Disgaea 5 or Disgaea D2 and AT Qoga.

There's not much of a difference in graphics, so you'll be fine with a PS 3 if you choose that.

Unless there's something coming out for PS 4 you want.

[up][up][up][up][up]As far as premises go, "the Velveteens decided to fuck with you a bit" doesn't have quite the same oomph as "a new dimension just opened up and took five people," but I guess we'll see where it leads.

So, Persona 5: Ultimate Edition is 76% off on PS 3 right now.

Is there a difference between the two games aside from graphics?

I've been thinking of picking up a Persona game for a while, but didn't want to pay 100+ for 4 because the only Playstation console I own is a PS 3.

Nah you're good. It's the same game.

It is the exact same game, even gfx wise the only real difference is with the PS 3 version the nameless and voiceless npcs in Tokyo have a Faceless Masses thing going for them till you get closer to them.

Thanks smile

Awesome.

$30 seems like a pretty good price for it, and its available for a week.

I'm still playing Xenoblade, so I'll see if I can finish that in the next few days, and if so I'll pick it up.

I got Persona 5, and I've been playing it today.

I did a quick google, and I won't be going for 100% or anything.

But I've got one question.

Do bosses have missable Persona's?

I was just fighting the Guard Captain, and when I tried to talk to him it failed.

I wasn't sure if maybe I could have weakened him more and then recruited him or not.

[up] You can never talk to bosses, but any Personae that can't be obtained through negotiation can be fused in the Velvet Room.

Some bosses like the Guard Captain/Archangel will appear as normal enemies(albeit as red shadows most likely) in the late portions of the palace. There's no missable personas though.

A good indicator to know if you can't talk to them is if the music is not the usual battle music.

Trying to think of how to best explain it, but basically this:

  • You can't ever recruit a boss enemy
  • If you miss a Persona in a dungeon, you can get it later

If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.

Thanks very much for the advice!

That's a relief.

One other question.

I've found about 3 chests that I can't open because I lack the lockpicks in the first dungeon.

I heard you should focus 100% on getting the palaces done ASAP. But should I take a day to craft them now?

Or can I come back to the chests later on (Or is the stuff not that important).?

The stuff in gold chests are not THAT important, but they will be destroyed once the Palace collapses so really only make lockpicks for those chests if you're super OCD about getting every chest in the game.

There’s nothing in the first palace’s chests that are incredibly important, but if you feel compelled to get them you can craft lockpicks the evening of the day you send the calling card since there’s not much else to do then.

[up],[up][up] Yeah. I ended up being able to craft 2 lockpicks which was enough to get all the chests thankfully.

There wasn't anything great though.

I'm having fun spotting voice actors that I know in different characters so far.

The Prison Twins are voiced by the same VA as Alya from Miraculous, which I liked.

The Distinguished Man I also recognize, but I'm almost certain will spoiler me if I try to look him up.

It's safe to say I certainly like Persona 5.

I'm 30 hours in after 4 days of playing it.

I just beat the third Palace and am ready for more relationship-ing.

I also just found out how awesome presents are. I got a whole extra third of reputation for only 3K-ish! I wish I knew how good they were before.

Now to Mementos, as I'm down to 3K Yen from the Salt Stone, plus I've got 3 requests banked up.
