They make it obvious that something's up with that particular person, but that's not the same thing as them being the traitor. Being spoiled, you probably interpreted the clues in a very specific way that made it seem more obvious than it might have been to other players.
I mean, "they're clearly lying" is a very different thing from "they're going to stab us in the back". Most people might be thinking "why are they lying?" instead of "oh, they're foreshadowing the traitor here."

Guys, don't we have a specific thread for P5?
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. That's specifically for spoilers. The game's out so it's open season.
For the record, I haven't been spoiled on The Traitor's identity or know any details; but yea, it is kind of obvious who it is since they kind of throw it in your face, and it's pretty easy to figure out once you figure out certain things.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Well, there's a throwaway line in the introduction level that flat out says it, so I guess it depends on whether you catch and hang onto that little detail.
Conserving SP becomes less important when you have the party decked out in SP Adhesives. Issues don't start cropping up until Palace #7, and that one is just a pure slog.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Yea, the intro cutscene says it outright that someone sold you out. Gotta pay attention to them detail dawg.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm with jovian. we have a persona 5 thread and this is getting uncomfortably close to spoiler territory.
...but yeah, they do specifically say in the beginning of the game that someone betrayed you

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThat was the ONE thing I've accidentally been spoiled on for the story, but thankfully it's apparently not one of the bigger things to be spoiled on.
I did notice and remember that line, I just didn't necessarily believe it was true. This is the same group of people that beat the shit out of you and injected you with some sort of drug in order to force you to sign a confession. Lying about that sort of thing is a classic interrogation tactic.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.in real life, sure
but in writing that wouldn't make much sense to do- to lie about there being a traitor. letting you know there's a traitor creates suspense on who it is, and there just not being one wouldnt be very satisfying
also iirc sae also says there's a traitor and she has actually zero reason to lie to you
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeOr it's a deliberate fake-out to make you think about it so they can do The Reveal that it was a lie. And Sae is a prosecutor. She has every reason to lie to you. Her job is to get you convicted, so lying about that as a tactic to get you to talk to her is entirely in character.
Besides, the original comment was "people thought it was obvious? I didn't. It was clear that something was going on with that one character, but not what." Well, now I know what's going on with that character, even though I wouldn't have before.
Seriously, why are you (general "you", not Epic Bleye specifically) even defending this? We have an entire spoiler thread for the game for this exact reason.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I'm just going to say 'it is not what you think' and go with that.
And yeah let's keep the P5 talk to the P5 thread.
why are you going to such lengths to deny it lol. You're literally grasping at straws.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Jovian is not the only person I've seen with that train of thought. Just apologize and be more careful with spoiler tags next time.
No spoiler tags, just don't bring up any plot or characters details here. Lots of people don't have the game yet at all and do not want to be spoiled on anything.
Put the P5 talk in the P5 thread.

I'd like you guys keep it in P5 thread as well. I won't be able to play it for a while, and while I'm spoiled on big things, I want to experience as much as possible unspoiled.
The thing is that people playing through the game want to talk about Persona 5 without going into a thread where people constantly throw around unspoiled major plot points. I say you can talk about Persona 5 in this thread but only as long as it is spoiled and properly tagged.
Then either ask them to start spoiler tagging stuff, or spoiler tag stuff here. Like, literally everything. Because complaining about spoilers and then spoiling stuff (even minor stuff) is dumb.
I'd lean toward asking them to use spoiler tags, though. Having a P5 thread separate from the general Persona thread and then talking about P5 in the general thread is kinda silly.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.tbh you're giving the current Persona team way too much credit if you think they're capable of any sort of fake out.
This is a game for young teenagers in Japan. All of the symbolism is hamfistedly explained so that nothing flies over anyone's head. They're not going to pull something like that.
That's not his point. There really shouldn't have been any Persona 5 talk in this thread, which I admit I contributed too in a way.
It's already been a month; I don't wanna put an ultimatum on people, but when exactly is it going to be ok to talk about a Persona game in the main Persona thread?
It was understandable when the game wasn't localized, but there's not much excuse anymore and I don't think it's right to relegate any P5 talk to the other thread. It's already using spoiler tags, so it defeats the purpose of it being a spoiler thread.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. When everyone is comfortable with Persona 5 being talked about here, then we can. Until this divide ends I don't see the point in trying to fight it.

But when? That's an unspecified point in time. Since P5 is new, it's the hottest topic and obviously gonna be talked about.
People could not play this game for months, so do we just let this thread dry up in the mean time?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. You act like there's nothing else to talk about regarding Persona. Start a topic, make a liveblog of the previous games, etc. You're not being hamstrung by anything except personal disagreement.
Wait, there are debates over the traitor being obvious? It's so foreshadowed that I genuinely can't believe that.
Honestly, I'm thankful that it's so obvious (since it was spoiled to me, so I don't feel like I'm missing much), but jesus. It's... not subtle.
