In terms of overall difficulty,The boss of the Void Quest dungeon can be considered harder but the thing with Yukiko is that she comes so early for a player to get his game on,much like Matador in SMT 3:Nocturne. Another thing she shares with Mr.Red Capote is that they aren't that difficult if you manage to get the Guide-Dang-It solution, just learn Red Wall and cast it on Chie and the battle become "doable"
Margaret, huh? Well, she definitely isn't as luck-based as her predecessor (either of them if you've been playing P3 Portable) meaning that you don't have to sit around and pray that she hits you with a physical attack on her second turn. With that said, you have access to gamebreakers such as the infamous Power Charge-Hassoutobi combo in addition to the fact that margaret will only Megidaolon you if you take too much time to do a set amount of damage,so all in all it isn't as difficult as you might think.
I finally played this game, and it was so good that despite having four other new games and a limited amount of time to play them in, I started a New Game + and played it again. I don't think I've enjoyed any other game this much since the original Playstation era.
I'm surprised that it has such a reputation for hard combat though; I played it through on Normal, and it was challenging enough to be interesting, but never frustrating. I'm guessing Hard is considerably more difficult, but it would have a long, long way to go before reaching the hair tearing difficulty of games like The7th Saga.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.I found it a lot easier than P3. There were only two hard bosses (three if you count bonus bosses), and you had the rest of your party taking deathblows as a buffer against random encounters killing you out of nowhere.

Torment liveblog is still hiatusing. You can vandalize my contributor page if you want something to do.Started playing Persona 4 on Normal a few weeks ago, and currently on the first day of Golden Week.
I defeated Shadow Yukiko on my first try, though admittedly not without some close moments. Go go Revival Beads!
Also, I find Yukiko cuter whenever she's happy instead of being the Ill Girl she was prior to the first dungeon.
http://twitter.com/raydere | http://raydere.tumblr.comYukiko is such a loveable dork with her laughing fits.
"The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules." - E. Gary GygaxI know some people found the laughing fits annoying, but I have them too IRL so I opened up to her a lot.
I got Persona 4 for Christmas last year, mainly because of the humongous hype machine coming from gaming websites like Giant Bomb who spent the better half of a year talking about how awesome it was.
I gave up halfway through Kanji's dungeon, because I kind of forgot about that whole "I hate turn-based RPGs, especially ones that can kill you with no warning via random chance" thing.
That, and I was the only person who liked Ayane's s-link and that really sucks ;_;

Got sick of my old avatar. But I still can't resist one last Jiiiii~Instadeath attacks were almost never a problem for me, because of the teammate loyalty mechanic where they throw themselves in the way of harm for you.
But if you don't like turn-based RP Gs, you don't like turnbased RP Gs. Nothing to be done about that.
"The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules." - E. Gary GygaxThat sure would have been useful when the enemies started spamming Hama like there was no tomorrow. Too bad they never do that on light/darkness attacks.
Got sick of my old avatar. But I still can't resist one last Jiiiii~uh...by the 2nd dungeon, you should be able to get persona that either null hama and mudo spells, or are at least strong to them, which should mean even if enemies start shooting mamudoon and mahamoan repeatedly, you can finish the battle without dying. but then again, dunno how it works in hard mode.
also, adding shadow yukiko to my list of overrated bosses, right up there with matador. i mean, jeez, all it takes is an appropriate persona equiped and the guard command on chie for the last half of the fight and theres next to no problem.
Currently on May 20-something. My current Persona is a Jack Frost (hee-ho!) with Resist Fire. I'm not sure how that'll work out when he's inherently weak to fire.
also, lol kanji's manwhorehouse bathhouse
Resist/null/reflect/absorb abilities override weaker affinities. So now your Jack Frost just resists fire.
This type of combination is occasionally a bit useful.

Has anybody here ever tried refusing a weak persona into something awesome solely because you liked the way it looked?
Done it with Izanagi before, maybe I'll try with Jack Frost too.
Umbran Climax◊I still don't understand, how do you refuse Izanagi? I hear it all the time but I never know how.
I'm a ghost, you didn't see me.You fuse the two next-highest Fool Personas. A double fusion between Personas of the same Arcana gets you a lower-level Persona.

I'm thinking about hocking this game off or throwing it away because I am a fucking idiot and am now on the last day to save Kanji. I'm right in front of the boss door with no healing items and everyone's at full except for a 50%-MP-left Yukiko.

http://twitter.com/raydere | http://raydere.tumblr.comNice situation you've gotten yourself in, Tsunde Ray. From what I can assume, you can either go in there and pray for victory and that your Personae is up to stuff.
Or you can lose, have Kanji died and using the rewind option. Assuming you can handle the guilt when you get the phone call about their death.
Lux-Pain LulzblogThanks for speeding up my decision to shamequit, Sonica.
http://twitter.com/raydere | http://raydere.tumblr.comCurrently just past Kanji's Bathhouse of Masculine Fun. Playing on Beginner because turn-based JRPGs aren't usually my thing, and I'm almost out of Moon Tsukubame already. Please tell me Rise is a pushover before she does that Cutscene Power to the Max thing...
Also, current top 2 Personae are Jack Frost and Principality, which means I can either ditch Chie and her ice attacks, which I don't want to do because I like her, or ignore Kanji and his mad Zio skillz, which I also don't want to do because he is Badass. Party lineup suggestions and/or advice for what Personae I should look out for before and during the Striptease would be greatly appreciated.
On a non-gameplay note, I have a classmate who sounds exactly like Naoto. She is female. That was my first hint about the Bifauxnen thing.
This game was available used at a closing Hollywood Video for ten dollars. Ten dollars! And I failed to purchase it.
If only I hadn't screwed around that store for so long and had more time to ruminate about it. I would not have made such a poor decision.
See you in the discussion pages.^^There will be a giant nihilistic half-bear dinosaur thing at the end of the striptease. It is quite hard, IIRC.

DeadFunny, that's the exact same spot where I said "wait a second, I'm not even having fun with this anymore; this game has officially become work". I then proceeded to chuck the game into the closet, never to be seen again.
I recommend you do the same.
Got sick of my old avatar. But I still can't resist one last Jiiiii~
