-Noting the Leman Russ, the Touro immediately starts moving laterally, and Pires lets off a shot of his own - the Abbot cannon belching a 105mm high-explosive shell at the Leman Russ-

-Six responds to Igno by cycling the action and firing her fifth shotgun shell at that possessed chaos marine-

-She immediately begins attempting to gain distance - she's out of ammo and needs to reload-

-the bullets are disintegrated in mid air and the other fighters start banking to evade, one takes a direct hit to the cockpit and dives down to the ground, plowing into it and exploding in the middle of a chaos formation-

-another one gets injured and trails smoke, its ability to move now severely compromised. but the third one proves a far more devious target, pulling straight up before diving down on bulla with the hadex anomaly behind it, trying to use the light of the warp anomaly to blind her, which seems to actually be glowing brighter than it was a second ago-

-hey xion, look at your shadow, looks like kirby walked up behind you and is asking for a hug...no wait according to your shadow he just jumped up and bit your head clean off-

-with pires, his attack goes first and it's a critical hit. The shell actually flies down the barrel of the leman russ and causes it to explode from within, metal shards and meat bits raining down on some of the cultists nearby-

-up ahead you can see another defiler, some chaos predator tanks, and a squad of khorne berzerkers on jet bikes being lead by an iron warrior-

Icaras: we're gonna move up, you've got some heavier fire power now so we'll try to squeeze them between us.

-the two space marines start moving up-

Cult

-the priest's corpse sits up as starling tries to loot it, grasping onto her arm and spraying strange fluid from what ever remains of its throat-

-meanwhile the hadex anomaly, hanging in the sky, begins to glow even more intensely to the point that everything begins to have a red hue to it as a force seems to rip through the town, sending the church and everyone inside it flying through the air-

-one of the possessed marines does not survive, fittingly impaled upon a monument that was dedicated to the emperor, but the other was thrown out a window and is currently unknown-

-outside Anvil has been smashed through a few walls but is somehow still in one piece-

Anvil: {hey you guys in the church, you still alive?}

Recruitment

-roger manages to cut the first blast in half successfully, though at one point it seemed like his cutlass was about to snap from the force. Thankfully because Joanna is causing this guy havoc he's incapable of actually aiming now and is just sort of firing wildly-

-the healthy noise marine at the rear gets slammed into by Grunbeld, but despite its warped and misshapen appearance the thing actually digs in its heels to start equaling him in raw strength-

-the third heavily injured noise marine starts picking itself up and aims its sonic blaster to shoot grunbeld in the side while he's ramming into the other one-

Hrodland: Ready when you are. -starts moving up with the others-

Cult

Igno: Oh, whoa! -grows a pair of wings to glide down safely from getting thrown in the air-

-Meanwhile, the puffy axe warrior looks at Xion with confusion when he sees her attacking her own shadow-

-He glances upwards at the Hadex Anomaly that's glowing brighter than before-

-The Eldar witch managed to ride out the storm, but any attempt at concealing herself are out the window as she pulls of her tattered cloak...along with forcing several large pieces of debris off her-

-The unnamed sniper drops down from the uprooted tree he landed in gingerly, his exitus rifle clattering when it drops to the ground as he holds his broken right arm-

Man: [The god-emperor seems to have kept us alive so far, sir...can't say the same for those word bearers. Are you alright?]

Recruitment

-Joanna's ears are bleeding pretty heavily as she holds on like a drop bear to the noise marine-

Bulla: "Gah, my eyes!"

~shields her face with her arms in a defensive pose~

Starling: ~is sprayed on~

~luckily, most of it landed on her jacket and hair, and nothing got in her face~

~Roger runs towards the Marine, doging the shots with surprising ease, and tries to ram his cutlass through the Noise Mari-...~

Pires: Small lance up ahead. Moving to flank.

-The Touro begins to approach the lance, and as it closes it in the smoke grenade launchers attached to it fire bursts of grenades, placing a giant white cloud onto the battlefield-

-As Six begins to reload her shotgun, she has enough time to insert one shell and wonder if she just killed Kasumi before the Hadex Anomaly whiplashes her out of the church-

-She is thrown bodily through the air and ends up flying through and demolishing at least four houses before landing in a fifth, which collapses on top of her-

Gene-seed

-bulla, you're getting sprayed by bullets now, considering your biology you probably won't be gravely wounded but you probably will be knocked to the ground by the sheer volume-

-well that gets the attention of the enemy, and now the jet bikes are approaching first with the berzerkers howling and preparing for what they think is about to be a massive slaughter as they charge through the smoke-

-you have maybe 15 seconds to prepare a proper ambush, thankfully you'll have the element of surprise because the khorne boys will not shut the hell up-

-xion you can hear the whispers, voices telling you to shoot kirby-

Cult

-Starling is able to escape the corpse's grasp, it being flung out a window during the ensuing trip through the air-

Anvil: {yeah I'm alright, took a nasty...hey there were crops here when we came down right?}

-if anyone looks around they'll notice that aside from the wrecked town, all the crops and stuff have disappeared, replaced with just grass land-

-Krias, meanwhile goes over to the house Six stopped her crash in and rummages through the collapsed remains to see if she is still alive-

Recruiting mission

-the wounded noise marine blasts grunbeld in the side, sending him flying into some trees-

-meanwhile the one getting double teamed by Joanna and Roger finally dies, having not being able to take someone snapping his neck and getting shanked by cutlass at the same time-

-hey roger, that sonic blaster is pretty cool don't you think?-

-roger why are you aiming it at ekene, no roger stop!-

-well roger you're now feeling like someone is controlling you and forcing you to fire at a teammate with that sonic blaster-

-The jetbikes charge through the smoke cloud, and they find... nothing-

-Unless somebody else sets up an ambush-

-The first inclination that something is wrong comes when the Touro - which used the smoke as a distraction to circle around - barfs Abbot Shell #2 at the rear of the Defiler, still circling around the formation-

Cult

-A few seconds after Krias starts rummaging through the remains-

-An olive-green arm greave punches up through the pile of wood, like the stinger of a zombie movie setting up the sequel-

-A few moments later the other arm smashes through, and then Six pulls herself (or, at least, her upper torso) out of the degenerate materials that once were a house, then leans back, taking a moment to rest-

Igno: -lands near the rest of the group-

-Kirby stares at Xion for about half a second, seeing how hard it is for Xion to keep from shooting him...then just knocks the gun out of her hands with his nub to remove that worry-

-It appears that even with a gun pointed right at his soft noggin, the little puffball has no intention of running away and saving himself when his friends are in danger. Especially not when they're mentally freaking out while in harm's way. It's hard to say whether the light in Kirby's eyes is his own or borrowed from the strength of a heavenly warrior clan long extinct, but he looks very resolute on this-

-Kasumi takes the shot, but thankfully she is wearing a decintish amount of armor for a mage, she is mostly winded, preventing her from doing much until after every one is thrown around-

-Eventualy she comes too however-

Kasumi: I am unsure, butthe energies are very offf here, like reality is poisioned.

-Sadly the answer is no, Nova was unable to set up an ambush, because did you know smoke makes a very effective anti-laser armor-

-the berzerkers come charging through the smoke, howling like monsters fully intent on slaughtering everything in their way as the engines of their jet bikes roar-

-on the other side of the smoke cloud, the defiler turns its attention to the touro after taking a hit and proceeds to charge with both its claws swinging and spewing forth flame-

Anvil: mmmm, the priest is dead though right? if he is then we should be able to leave now.

-the hadex anomaly still hangs in the sky, gazing down on the group as all the remains around them is a wrecked town. Hell even the bodies of the cultists have disappeared. That word bearer corpse remains-

-the voice in roger's head keeps telling him to fire, chanting it like its the only word it can say. Can you resist the voice for long roger?-

-meanwhile the wounded noise marine struggles but can't manage to fire off another shot before getting hammered by grunbeld, gurgling up slaanesh drugs as it dies a pitiable death-

-the other noise marine however is about to fire on grunbeld's back before a melta shot burns a hole right through its chest-

Pires: Shit, they usually die after that!

-The Abbot autoloads another shell, and Pires keeps circling-

-This time, Abbot Round #3 is followed up by the Disco laser turret opening up on the Defiler-

-At 15 MW it's not dealing quite a lot of damage per hit, but the teal blaster is pulsing rather quickly-

Six: Shit! Sorry about shooting you, Kas!

-Six pulls herself out of the housepile and frontflips down it, rolling down on her side-

-Once she comes to a stop she picks herself up-
