And to be fair, I'm pretty sure the helicopters in Metal Gear are perfectly ordinary helicopters, as opposed to a brain in a jar using a V-22 Osprey as his body.

Their planet wasn't viable anyway. Whatever cosmic accident resulting in its formation aside, unless they could survive for several years without food to wait for a coconut tree to grow from that and harvest some coconuts, they would have all died within the month anyway. Possibly longer, if they resorted to cannibalism.

I always assumed the enemies in Galaxy were dropped off on the planetoids by Bowser's airships. Surely a ship would come back to pick up any survivors after a while. That is, until the end of the game where Rosalina explodes the universe and stuff.

Hey, the destruction of the universe was Bowser's fault. Rosalina just fixed it.

I get the feeling that any ecosystem whose only source of food was a single coconut wasn't gonna last anyways.

They're fungus monsters. They might have been able to make that coconut last a really long time. Or...plant it? Do coconuts have seeds?
