I'm still surprised that Kira Kira became this popular. Though then again, it is awesome. Chie-nee needs more love, though. :(
Also, I second the notion of not playing Kirari's route first. That's what I've told people. Go with Chie's route first. It kicks ass.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Chie's route had too much awesome in it. Couldn't finish Sarina's route. And I'm not actually sure that's her name...
It is, though Shikanosuke calls her Kasawara Kahiara Kashiwara for much of the game.

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Where did you guys get your downloads of the game? The one I got doesn't seem to want to install.
Huh that's the one I used too. Once I mount it clicking on the install game option does nothing. Did you have to do anything special?

Is your non-Unicode program language set to Japanese? If not, then it might not work. Most visual novels require you to have set non-Unicode to Japanese, and some (Damnit, Symphonic Rain!!) require you to set your location to Japan, which is much more intrusive and annoying.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Did you have to do this?
Explore the disc > right click setup.exe > properties > switch to Windows XP compability mode
double click setup.exe
it loads for a few minutes and doesn't show any progress, but after that it opens the intallation program
I use XP already, so no.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Well I changed my language and location to Japanese. Still nothing. Do I have to muck around with installing the Direct X or does it just hate Vista?
I don't know, it works on Win 7 as well.
Well when I just kept the language as Japanese(and put the locale back to English) it finally installed.
Yay. Thanks for the help.

Btw, thanks for suggesting that I do Kirari's route last. Nice conclusion emotionally. It would be tough to do that first and go back to the two others.
Finished Chie's route. It is indeed awesome. Rock 'n' Roll!
Also, is it just me, or that school nun totally looks like a dude in a nun costume?
Oh god, you're going to give me knightmares nightmares.
Uhh, anyway, I finished the Kirari's true ending. YAY. Really enjoyed the game. ROCK N ROLL!
Edit: too much Code Geass.

So if Kirari's route is supposed to be the best(and apparently has the True Ending) which route do you guys recommend doing first? Chie's or Sarina's?
Chie's. It's awesometacular. Plus, Sarina's is honestly boring and too sappy and romantic, in a bad way. I like to believe that Chie is the main girl of the three, and that Kirari is just some random freeloader.
Honestly, she comes off (especially in her own route) as a Mary Sue. becoming an expert at guitar in days? I can attest to that being impossible, even with the "talent" that oh-so many characters remark upon.

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Chie's route is a lot better, so you actually might want to do Sarina's first. I know I felt really let down after that. Couldn't finish this.
I was fine with Kirari personally. And if you don't hate her, then her route is the most emotionally concluding. I think Sarina fits the protagonist best out of the three girls but her route is pretty weak so I'd recommend Doing Sarina's(Kashiwara), Chie's and then Kirari's.
And a little note. Personally I'd prefer having the endings for Kirari labelled True end and Good end. The normal end feels more "correct" to me.
Doing Curtain Call. Man, Yuko in her band outfit looks just like Shikanosuke in his.
Finally, I finished Kira Kira.
The Kirari-Chie-Sarina-True!Kirari route order wasn't that bad, after all.
For some reason, I think that at Chie's route, it would have been a bit better if choosing whether or not Shikanosuke should have sex with watsername would have been triggered Chie having sex with whatshisface.
I think Chie is a little more discerning than Shikanosuke.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Kirari's normal end is much better than her good end, which seemed to be added in to escape the complete depression of much of her route. The normal route did well focusing on Shikanosuke's growth as a character, compared to focusing on Kirari herself. Really, you could view Kirari's Normal End as Shika's route, and her True End as her own route.
That's the way I see it, any way.

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes. What really is why didn't the events of her plot happen outside of her route? And the same goes for Sarina.
I noticed the same thing in Fate Stay Night, with various characters, it's really like Schrodinger's cat: The plot point should logically be there, but you are not supposed to think too hard about it, as if only opening the route would truly finalize that those characters have a life outside of your previous line of sight.
