I get why people think Link can't talk, but he says things silently to people in dialogue options. It's just that in most instances, he talks with his sword.

Funny how Link's supposed to be brave, but the people controlling him IRL are terrified of some of the creatures, locations, etc.

Exactly. I find it a bit weird that there are multiple types of blood vessels, but these expressions only care about the veins. In my native language, you'd indeed use the generic word for "blood vessel" in that kind of expression.note
