In any case, if one only wants the original trilogy, wait for those. Does it really hurt to make the prequel movies available in 3D for those of us who want them?

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI've been watching the prequels for the first time recently, and I'm inclined to agree with you about all the bashing it gets from the fans. Mostly.
I thought The Phantom Menace wasn't that bad, actually. What they needed to do, among other things, was get a better screenplay, chop the length of the podrace in half and give Threepio and R2 more time together. Way more entertaining than Jar-Jar. The Hype Backlash is what really killed it. If people hadn't expected so much from it, it might have been better received.
Attack Of The Clones, on the other hand, was terrible. I wanted to see Christopher Lee doing awesome stuff and yet The Count (I am not typing his name) barely had anything to do. It seemed as though the eponymous clones were only there to give Palpatine an excuse to snatch more power and to show us a young Boba Fett. As for the "love story?" Let's just say that ever since I saw this movie, I've been a little less harsh in my criticism of Twilight. Because I know now that there are things worse.

Looking for some stories?I too preferred The Phantom Menace over Attack Of The Clones. I think it might be nostalgia, though... I watched The Phantom Menace before watching the original trilogy, and watched the original trilogy before watching Attack Of The Clones.
Still though, I think it's telling that Roger Ebert gave ep1 3.5 stars, gave ep2 2 stars, and gave ep3 3.5 stars.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI think the biggest part of the problem was that Episode II's centerpiece was the romance, while in Episode I it was Naboo and the Trade Federation and finding Anakin, and in Episode III it was Anakin's fall. Episode II also had a smaller amount of action than I or III and action seems to be George Lucas' strong point.
Not Three Laws compliant. That's why I always liked episode 2 the least. I don't exactly hate it but out of all six movies it was...the most boring is probably the best way to put it. Episode 1 was kind of boring too but I think episode 3 is pretty good. Much better than the other two at least.
My favorite thing about Episode II is that it centers on Obi-Wan, who's more or less my favorite character (excluding Vader, naturally). I actually quite like the scene at Dexter's Diner. It's quaint, and it shows you a gentler side of the Star Wars universe, one not embroiled in, well, wars.
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft NextI liked that scene too. Not everyone is running around having adventures all the time, there is some semi-normal aspects of life in that universe too.
Insert witty one-liner here.I'm lukewarm to Attack Of The Clones. It's not great, but I don't think I can bring myself to hate it like I can do with The Phantom Menace when I try to. Also, Obi-Wan is awesome, so that helps it. I think Revenge Of The Sith has to be one of my favourite films, definitely makes up for (in my opinion) any faults the other prequels had.
Hmmm... did they update Yoda in the new The Phantom Menace release? It sort of creeps me out. It looks more real than the chair Yoda's sitting on.

No, the DVD call actually sounds like an animal while the Blu-Ray sounds like someone dropped the soap.
