Reopened because apparently this isn't quite done?
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffSo, now we have an issue, which is that someone took off the YMMV banner. Now there are over 600 wicks hanging around, and all of them except for a small handful (there are fewer than a dozen in-universe examples on the page, so there can't be many in the wicks) are used for the Audience Reaction. So.
I made this thread because the Real Life examples on the page were getting out of hand—not to redefine the trope to be completely objective. That's why the crowner points to Discredited Meme (which is YMMV) as a model. Simplest fix is just to put the banner back up and let those wicks naturally migrate back off of the main page onto YMMV, where they belong. In-universe examples still go on the main page whether it has the banner or not, just like with every other Audience Reaction. So that's what I think we should do. How's that sound?
If we don't do that, then we need to do something about this 99% misuse rate.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Whoops. Moved back to TRS.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffThanks.
Rhymes with "Protracted."This page definitely needs to be YMMV. It's an audience reaction that sometimes pops up in-universe, not a trope. I think it's fine to have examples on the YMMV subpages.
Leave as an audience reaction, absolutely.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Agreed with YMMV, since it’s still (mis)used as such. Also, should this be in the No Real Life Examples Please list, since we don’t allow Real Life examples for this anyway?
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Slashed down to In-Universe examples only. The page is much shorter now.
