I'm starting to think that Joyce is what happens when an Emily-type has to deal with corporate wolves rather than coyotes. Sure, way more thinky, but personality-wise, probably exactly what one needs to counteract the presence of Nogg.

I wonder if Baldwin is setting Anesu up to be the new Dmitri.

I think she needs about five minutes with Krep and the promise to cover his bar tab to get all of that.

Also, is it me, or has Nogg gotten way more jerky? I mean, he's never been the most moral sapient to begin with, but it seemed like he was just being petty until Joyce pressed his buttons.

I think Nogg was trying to re-assert his authority, since Joyce's handling of the pirates undermined him so badly. And he screwed that up, as usual, since he picked entirely the wrong hill to fight on.

Don't know if that's being more a jerk than he was in the first series, or not.

Hmm... good point. This might fall under "need more information at this time." And it'd be a plausible development either way - maybe Nogg's repeated failures are starting to really weigh on him.

You'd really thing Nogg would be used to this at this point. Of course, you'd also think that Nogg would learn at some point, too.

Mauricio's got some big shoes to fill, and he may or may not be already filling them.

To go back on my previous comment, when people repeatedly put Nogg in these positions because they like watching what happens, you really think he'd learn at this point.

In a way, Nogg is pretty amazing how he stays static. I almost think he's trying to be a ambulatory piscine doofus.
