I still vote for a Redead.
What does a Redead look like?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Hey, I added the Fire Emblem picture, and that was an example of a Demonic Spider.
It killed the people you were charged to protect very quickly and was very hard for any of your units to kill outside of one. Not one type, one individual, in a strategy game based around moving small armies. That said, I'm in total defense of Centipede. Its the UR example, its a literal example and the picture fits the trope description perfectly.
Demonic Spiders are supposed to be random enemies, so the fact that the boy and the centipede are the focus but the captions tells you to look to the little spider out of focus sums up what this trope really is. Random, seemingly minor enemies that are extremely dangerous.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack@Pope: Redeads from Ocarina Of Time also qualify as Personal Space Invaders.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Maybe the 8th panel from the comic strip?
When I made the thread, the picture was of an extremely nonthreatening-looking demon thing from some platformer
And a still picture of a spider (I think that was it?) does nothing to tell us what you just said, anyway.
I have a message from another time...This thread expired after 60 days of inactivity.
This still needs to be addressed, as the current pic is JASAAC.
Re-bump...same issue.
Like The Pope's most recent.
Fight smart, not fair.I don't get that image, though, so... not the best optino, really...
Something that just came to mind that could work is a takeoff on the pic that's on Goddamned Bats, with an extra panel at the end showing a pile of bones.
A classic option is the ever popular Castlevania Bird. Show Simon climbing a staircase. Show a bird in the first image. On the second, have the bird swoop down and knock Simon off the staircase. Caption: "Expect this to happen about another 20 times before you get past this point. Did we mention you only have three lives?"
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Post 35 isn't bad.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Post 35 would work better for Personal Space Invader than Demonic Spider.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Bump...if I get time, I'll try to work on the idea I had a few posts up.
Pulling (Trope Namer but non indicative)

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Clock is set...hopefully I'll get some time tonight to work on the image idea I had.
Okay, how's this? I know Zubats aren't normally DS's, but if they were...
Nah, this isn't about swarmy enemies.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Say hi to Goddamned Bats.
Where do you think I got the pic from to tinker with?
I dislike the current picture, I'd rather have no image than an image of a game box. Especially since the Demonic Spider in the image is very small because the Centipede and the boy are the focus of the game.
