It says the Wrangler can create it right on the entry.

Gentlemen, I have a sad tale to regale. Today, whilst enjoying 2Fort, I finally got the last item needed to construct my first, very own non-event hat (oddly enough, I've only gotten one item since the droprate was changed =/). I smelted together my refined metals, and lo, what do I see?

The pyro's beanie,God-ugly hat for a class I never play, that's what.

"Ok, resourceful me," I say, "I'll just combine this with my non-hat Medic Mask!" And what did I receive?

Freakin' Baseball Bill's Goddamn Sport Shine.

NEAUGH RAGERAGEHATERAGERAGE. Now Valve has guaranteed me playing constantly to get moar metal to craft a new hat...

Actually, while the Wrangler protects the sentry a lot, there's nothing that'd protect the Engineer...

I expect to see an increase in backstabs.

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.

I wish I had a Pyro beanie. Although it is true that the Pyro needs more and better hats. Hats.

My latest liveblog.

The only good hats are on FPS Banana.

I have The Fury's cosmonaut helmet and jetpack for a Pyro Hat.

Half-Life: Dual Nature, a crossover story of reasonably sized proportions.

I have The Fury's cosmonaut helmet and jetpack for a Pyro Hat.

Ditto. And I replaced the Spy's powdered wig with Grey Fox's helmet.

Only non-event hat I have right now is the Pyro's little brain slug thing, but I actually kinda like it.

The point of the Wrangler's shield is to compensate for the Engineer being unable to repair the Sentry while he controls it.

Of course, when it gets damaged enough that he has to repair it, it's defenseless and offenseless for three seconds.

11numb: Like I said, I am a relatively new player. I have a good number of drops, of which only two are hats (and they dropped almost at the same time).Funny thing? BOTH are soldier hats. I have never played as a soldier, so I have two nice hats just sitting there. I could smelt them together, though, but somehow I'm reluctant to do so... just in case I end up with a third soldier hat, I guess.

Oh well. At least my first crafted hat was the scout's orwellian cap. That one looks nice.

I hope the Gunslinger's crits will be an uppercut, so when I first kill someone with it I will yell out SHORYUKEN!

I'm guessing you can still only build one minisentry?

But this is awesome.

Gunslinger + Wrangler + Frontier Justice.

With your extra health, go into the front lines, drop a minisentry to lay down covering fire, whip out the wrangler so you can act like an aimed machine gun, and pull out the Frontier Justice when the minisentry dies before you build the next one.

@Enlong: You can probably make multiple mini-sentries, but probably keeps you from making regular Sentries.

Well, Minisentries are what are made by Gunslinger engies instead of regular sentries, so yeah. If you can make multiple minisentries, that'd be awesome.

Oh and "Engineers can now pick up and carry their buildings" HOLYCRAP YES! MOVE THAT GEAR UP!

Medic can always re-attach it. That would probably be the "real" explaination if any human being in the galaxy suddenly started caring about TF canon, anyways.
