Pyro is the Schroedinger's Cat of genders.

I choose to believe Pyro does not have a gender and is infact teleported bread.

no, today they distributed the party hats and noise makers today, there's beach balls that say happy birthday and birthday related items in the servers. i've never been able to participate in a Team Fortress 2 event so i'm excited

More specifically, it's Team Fortress's birthday — i.e., the birthday of the Quake mod that started it all. I hope you all got it a present.

Here's a bit of tomfoolery I did today. So, I was Spy on Defence, set-up time, and it was one of those spawns with grates you can see through. I decided to disguise as a teammate, when I noticed BLU had a Sniper.

So I walked around, ogling the Sniper disguised as a RED Sniper myself, got his rifle firmly pointed at me old head. Ended up sure I'd had him all pumped up for a sudden sniper duel. Then 1 second on the clock I cloaked and disappeared. What fun, what mischief!

Eh, I guess you had to be there.

NISLT recently announced via a friend that he's grown bored of youtube shenanigans and quit. Think most of the major channels focusing on TF 2 have moved on to other games or quit nowadays.

It's either a move to Overwatch or just outright giving up on the game (at least when it comes to YT'ing). Still, there's a new gen of TF 2 Youtubers around and about, chiefly Soundsmith, Serious Martin and a few others.

To be fair, this year TF 2 is turning 10. That's already an impressive achievement that proves TF 2's status as a Long Runner, but sadly now there are a lot of newer hero/class-based shooters with different mechanics, the most popular of which being Overwatch. Doesn't help that Valve themselves doesn't really dedicate much resources into TF 2 anymore.

Of course, we still have the community to keep the boat afloat, but time will tell how long they can last.

Eh. Overwatch sometimes feels like it specifically leads you all the time. No need in training rocketjumping if all you need is a press of a button.

At the same time, the steep learning curve can be a factor due to which people decry this game as dumb. Every now and then I see a clueless Gibus Sniper just waddling into the crowd with his SMG and getting destroyed immediately after by some Unusual Pink Killstreak "Pro-Scout".

Anyway, yesterday we were having a time of our lives; after fooling around in Randomizer we found ourselves on Thunder Mountain. I jokingly suggested a Fat Scout rush. Suddenly, 11 Heavies marched out of spawn, screaming Pootis and giving the other team nightmares. Didn't carry us all the way to a win - they've wisened up to our tricks by third point - but we've had a blast.

Ironically, the top-scorer in the opposite team was a Machina Sniper called Tovarisch Kompot.

Fat Scout rushes are the best.

i finally got to trading on this site (trade.tf) and i've gotten stranges, skins, and hats and AH i love it i finally don't look like a f2p and i can confidently say that stock weapons are the best, i have the turbine torcher and it does more damage than a degreaser

and like i got this silly hat combo going brotherhood of arms, pop eyes, and the cute suit
