I wonder how one would convey the *is impressed* in person.

She just says "is impressed?" Possibly pointing to herself? And John's met enough people who talk weird to just roll with it.

Trying to make sense of the spoken quirks is an exercise in futility. Just pretend they're all really pronounced accents and body language.

Can I reiterate how disappointed I was that it took a year and a half for us to find out why Kanaya came back to life, and that the answer was "it's just a thing Jadebloods can do".

They all live inside a videogame and "read" what each other "says". (Yes, even Sollux.)

I shall allow it but at a later date you must make a haiku.

Well, that was a heck of a return to update(s).

In the grand scheme of the plot, its not really important. Hussie wanted Kanaya alive and for Eridan to not be. Whether he decided this after he had already had Kanaya killed is something we may never know.

Which is annoying, to make such a moderate to-do about something that doesn't particularly matter.

Well, I'm 16 now.

1st: I accept any excuse for Kanaya to keep being relevant, she is my favorite.

2nd: Stuff like this is less of a problem for me because I read at a later date and shot through the comic. That's probably why I had no qualms with the Trickster arc, and why comics are easier to digest in trade form. Waiting weeks to months to years for arcs to rap up gives fatigue, while blitzing through them doesn't.

Well in page form, it's nearly 2000 pages. Anyway, it bugs me because I feel like it kind of cheapens death if you bring someone back without explaining why. It would be different if it was supposed to be some kind of mystery, but it turned out to not matter at all.

Happy birthday, Inari! Now you get the privilege of being as old as the protagonists as Homestuck ends.

I just skipped nine pages. Ah, the days of long ass conversations where I miss a whole bunch and weigh in on an issue that was discussed like twenty pages ago are back!

Also happy birthday Inari. Sixteen is.... sixteen. That's it. Sixteen.

I've always felt like Hussie wasn't quite sure what the deal was with Kanaya. One of my gripes has always been "why the heck did she randomly become a vampire". Granted, it meant she got to hang around, and the fact that she chainsawed Eridan in half means I was inclined to be charitable.

@JTeeth: It's something genetically part of the jadebloods, it seems.

There's significant chunks of Homestuck that I think Hussie just made up on the spot, really. I think he said at one point that he wrote out the broad strokes of the story in advance, but made up other things as he went along.

I actually was reading the Wham episode page for Homestuck the first time through (yes, I know, very stupid of me), and I noticed that it contained information on the first five troll deaths, along with Gamzee losing it. I did not, however, notice if it contained Kanaya's return and her killing Eridan, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when she returned.

The style of her return more than satisfied me. Also at that point I was used to characters dying and coming back for one reason or another. So. *shrug*
