dont. explain. the joke.
also don't take an already existing joke and run with it when the original joke was already in the endzone.
this has been humor 101 with teebs
"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKFunny enough, you can do that exact thing in the Doctor Who fandom. Or rather, skip the season you don't like for one you might like better.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNot trying to generalize here, but the Hetalia fans I've met do seem naturally adverse to Homestuck for some reason.
And is this Humor 101 now? Jegus let me get a fucking pen
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.Actually, it's my belief that the people who do nothing but obsess about dick-up-ass action are in the fringes of the fandom as a whole, along with the people who skipped to the fifth act and people who proudly declare that they didn't even try to read the Intermission. I truly believe that the majority of fans enjoy the comic because it's awesome, while enjoying a little meatstick-lovin' on the side, and not shying from the wonders of rug-munching either.
Damn, this is a pretty dirty post.
NO YOU DUNKASS YOURE SIXING WRONG!!!!!!!!
The baby bat/ Screamed out in fright,/ 'Turn on the dark,/ I'm afraid of the light.'I like Hetalia because the dub is freaking hilarious, and 'cause it's hard to watch just one episode, since they're like 5 minutes long. It's like a bag of potato chips.
Of course, making the Axis powers the main viewpoint characters, and making one of them drive the others crazy leads to some very awkward moments. You know, that awkward feeling when you realize you just said "poor Germany".
But mainly, I like what I've seen of it because everyone's hilarious and they don't hesitate to make fun of every country ever, including their own. It's like Punch-Out.

I have a message from another time...enlong i had never suspected you of being a yaoi monster
now i know
the truth
"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKTeebs, I have a rule. No porn of works with which I am familiar.
As such, being a Hetalia viewer means that I cannot be a yaoi monster.
It's just plain impossible, bro.
QED
I have a message from another time...impossible unless youre lying
"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKI'm not lying, and you can trust me when I say that, 'cause I'm honest.

I have a message from another time...I've never read Hetalia, though I don't hate it - I just have no interest in the concept.
That and I've fufilled by Japanese quota with Touhou Project and Madoka Magica.
but what if its opposite day when you say that you're honest?
"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKtoa i just dont think you got the skills necessary for a case as extreme as kex
Do or do not, there is no try.guys y u gotta be so mean to the poor child
"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKBut if it was opposite day, then it'd also have been opposite day when you described the percentage of yaoi monsters, which would mean that there are 0% yaoi monsters in Hetalia fans.
Also: if you're gonna do anything with Hetalia, watch it. Specifically, watch the dub.
I don't think I need to say anything about the dub, other than the fact that it includes the line "Man up or I'll hit you with my peace prize!"

I have a message from another time...i suddenly do not like the opposite day hypothetical
"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKI have never been a dumb 13 year old because I am a super smart 9 year old :D
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." Twitteranthon, flopping is not soaring, stop assuming that it is
"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKAnd another card. One left.
But, at this point, I got a serious question.
Do you guys think that my cards are getting lazy lately? I mean, when I first did this, I worked to incorporate as much of the symbolism as I could. I edited Karkat like crazy, made an 8-ball pentacle for Vriska's card, etc. And now it feels like the extent of my work is to find a Hero Mode pose from the character in question, put one symbol on it that looks OK, and call it a day. I mean, I didn't even try for the "pouring cups into each other" thing with this card. I dunno. Maybe it's because I feel like it's an injustice to try and make them look profound with sprites, but maybe it's just me being lazy and getting used to finding perfect screenshots. Maybe Cascade spoiled me. So, seriously, do you guys think I should go back and do more work on these ones?

I have a message from another time...Do the amount of work you feel comfortable with, and don't do them out of a sense of obligation.
They call themselves seamstresses -Feet Of ClayI suppose.
I mean, I got plans for this last one, but some of them... I dunno. It's like, nothing stands out as "THE PERFECT IMAGE" for some of these last ones, and I feel like I could be making edits to make the sprites work? But then I think "man, it's gonna look so choppy if I just paste a cup or can of tab or whatever into her hand."
Of course, sometimes sprite-mode works fine, like with Dave's card, or Sollux's. Shrug.
I think maybe I'll re-do Karkat's thing at some point. Maybe.
I have a message from another time...
It's actually 99.9999999999999999....... % of the fans.
