Yeah ultra necrozma is unfair like you ether get lucky or use a specific strategy by using a zoroark to beat it.
After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. Let's give it EVERYTHING we've got! It's...PUNISHMENT TIMEOh, we don't need to spoiler-tag Ultra Necrozma anymore? Alright, the only strategy I had the last time I fought that thing years ago was by using a level 100 event Pokémon to outlast it until it ran out of power points.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.Wait, it's that strong!?
"To all of you here in person, and all of you watching on television, I hope you enjoy the show!"Evidently, but since I have a habit of erasing games and starting over (with the promised intention of NEVER deleting them again), I'm out of luck here. Maybe I should switch to Violet since that's the current gen.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.Nah, Ultra Necrozma is disproportionately high-level, but can be beaten with regular Pokemon. Malamar and Zoroark both have ways of completely shutting it down.
And yeah, Pokemon species and forms are fair game after two weeks after the game comes out, is my understanding of site policy.
SoundCloudAm I very weird for never having nicknamed my Pokemon, from the very start, like ever?

Nah, I was the same as you, then I decided to nickname because I learned that it's a necessity in Nuzlocke runs (even though I don't actually follow the rules of it, like the whole "release if fainted" thing that I chickened out on and went to a Pokémon Center to heal on my first try, before my first badge)

If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.I mainly started nicknaming Pokemon I intend to keep around, really.
Wake me up at your own risk.I want to name my pokemon, but I can rarely think up anything cool.
The problem is that I think I might decide NOT to keep the nicknamed Pokémon anymore, and I would have to go get it changed back to its species name before depositing it.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.Just one of multiple reasons why I don't use Reddit lol

SoundCloudI beat Ultra Necrozma by having the fairy bee with the scarf stun spore it so each of my mons could get at least one move in before dying.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.I nicknamed some pokemon during the X and Y days and during Nuzlockes. During Nuzlockes rather than releasing fainted pokemon I have them healed and placed in a box so at the end I can know how many it took to win. I have usually three box types alive pokemon, dead pokemon, and rare pokemon like shiny pokemon or ones that are hard to find outside this game.

"May your heart be your guiding key"That what I did for my shield nuzlocke, keep the bodies of the decease, nearly made a box full.
After 10 year plus years I have the confidence to be here. Let's give it EVERYTHING we've got! It's...PUNISHMENT TIMEI always nickname my Pokémon, even if it ends up breaking the One-Steve Limit to tiny whimpering little glass fragments.
I don't think it's ever happened that I had like three or more with the same nickname, though? (Maybe variations like "Jon" or "John" or "Jawn", but I don't think that's happened yet, either.)
Though I always end up nicknaming a female cat (usually a Starter like Litten) after my late mom.
Re: Pokémon nicknames.
If you completely run out of ideas, you can always invoke You Are Number 6. Back in the day, when I was playing Pokémon Blue and Yellow simultaneously, I did that to differentiate between the two. So while my character in Blue gave their 'mon normal names, my character in Yellow started with a Pikachu named ZERO, the first 'mon caught after that was ONE and so on (except, you know, in German). That was before I knew about Nuzlocke challenges, possibly before the concept was invented.
My first ever Pokémon on my first ever playthrough of Pokémon Crystal was a Cyndaquil named Müsli, which is a convoluted pun on the German name that probably no one except me finds funny. Cyndaquil is Feurigel, from "Igel" = hedgehog, but it sounds like "Riegel" = bolt/bar, as in, a candy bar, a cereal bar. And a cereal bar is "Müsliriegel". So... that totally makes sense as a Pokémon nickname, right? Right?
But I usually don't put that much thought into nicknames.

"He betrayed the Staaarks" is not the only problem here.I nicknamed Pokemon in both Sword and Brilliant Diamond.
This was my main team on Pokemon Sword: A Sobble named Henry (Was on a Titanic kick at the time) My Wooloo was named Dolly (After Dolly The Sheep) My Galarian Meowth was named Rollo (From a conversation my grandmother had while watching Foyle's War) Corviknight was named Sam (It's short for Isambard) My Galarian Farfetch'd was named Harold (I wanted to name a Galarian Farfetch'd Harold at some point) My Clefairy was named Jessica (Jessica is fitting for a Clefable) Yamper was named Ada (After Ada Lovelace)
On Brilliant Diamond, my nicknames was either Mythology themed, words related to the Pokemon's type or references to popular culture.
Here are three examples:
My Empoleon is named Poseidon (After the Greek God)
My Chimchar is named Chilli (Chillies are a spice)
My Torterra is named A'Tuin (Reference to the turtle in Discworld)
I haven't named any Pokemon in Legends Arceus or Pokemon Violet (Though at one point I was going for a themed naming playthrough of colours)

For nicknames I engaged in theme naming. Swsh had a general Britain theme while SV had a Don Qxiote theme with the exception of Miraidon (no nickname) Meloetta (went with a more muse inspired one iirc) and Ogerpon (the ironic name of Momoko).

I've been giving out a lot more nicknames than I used to in my Scarlet game: Whiskus the Meowscarada (I thought it was from a TS Elliot poem), Jeanne the Gardevoir (after Jeanne d'Arc) Boreas the Frosmoth (I think it's something to do with the North wind?), Amatsu the Volcarona (A play on Amaterasu and a wheel of time reference), Walpurga the Tsareena (after Saint Walpurga) and Atlus the Slither Wing (after the Atlus moth).
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.I personally just have a specific theme per game, with Violet, it's villains associated with time travel. It doesn't even have to be their main thing, but they had to be involved in time travel in some capacity.
Quint, Towa, Amelia, Kang, Veran, and Brainiac to give a few examples
....I don't think most of you will get all the references tho.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Amelia? That seemed like a reach.
Like I can think of two time travel related people with that name, one being morally ambiguous at best (and that is just kayfabe) and the other wasn't exactly known for antagonistist behavior either.
If I had decided on a Time traveler (in General) theme. I'd go with Homura, Nathan, Petta, Barry, Trunks and Fry. Maybe Lucina for a seventh.

Yeah, Amelia is a pretty obscure one.
Lemme give you a hint, Amelia Chronos.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. Its only in my most recent Pokemon playthroughs that I've started trying to nickname the Pokemon on my teams. Usually after anime characters.
For me it depends on my mood on what names I want like my moon team it's was jrpg's that I played to completed while my PLA had japanese elemental themed names.

That WAS my plan (having a full team of Pokémon I only intend to use) but I gave up on it because I found out the ones I want, even fully evolved, might not be able to defeat Ultra Necrozma in Ultra Moon.
